because she has heat rash?

or doesn't know her 12 times tables?

or won't eat cous cous?

or is still being breastfed?

Twiglett · 23/07/2006 15:04

heh heh .. probably all valid reasons

but no

.. keep guessing

She's too thin...

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 23/07/2006 15:06

because she insists on shutting every door in the house? because she likes lining up all her teddies in strict size order? (both "almost" worrying traits in a 2 year old, according to my mum, in a jokey but deliberately "subtle hint" type way). she grew out of it. (my mum, not dd)

Twiglett · 23/07/2006 15:06

nope

remember my mother knows everything ("I've had 4 you know")

She sleeps too much

She doesn't sleep enough

She isn't potty trained yet

Twiglett · 23/07/2006 15:07

ooooo PC

I never thought anyone would get it

its because she has a 3 hour sleep in the afternoon

I need to take her to the doctor

or

I need to wake her up and stimulate her

Er...still in a nappy? My mum has some mad recollection of toilet training at 9 mths or something bonkers.

edam · 23/07/2006 15:09

Wow. They do like finding something to worry about, don't they? Ds was still having 2.5 hours at that age. I was just very, very grateful I had some time to myself!

PiccadillyCircus · 23/07/2006 15:09

She should be left to sleep, definitely.

I have a vague memory of your "smug SAHM thread" your mentioning your DD having nice day time naps and was wondering if it was something to do with that.

TinyGang · 23/07/2006 15:10

But that three hours of peace. Are they mad?!

puff · 23/07/2006 15:17

a 2 year old that still enjoys a 3 hour sleep in the afternoon should be cause for massive celebration - both mine gave up on the pm nap at 18 months

chipmonkey · 23/07/2006 15:31

What does your Mum think the doctor would do? Any of the GP's in my local surgery (They're all mums) would say "Aren't you lucky?"

Mirage · 23/07/2006 21:07

DD1 gave up her nap as soon as dd2 was born.

My mum suggested that we start to potty train dd2,who is 14 months! Apparently because dd2 laughs when she wees on the floor/in the bath,or anywhere where she shouldn't,it is time to potty train her,as she knows what shes doing.

No,she knows she will get a reaction, thats why she laughs.I have got better things to do than try & potty train a 14 month old.

marthamoo · 23/07/2006 21:10

A 3 hour afternoon sleep in a toddler is cause for celebration, not a trip to the doctors

SecurMummy · 23/07/2006 21:12

My 2yo has no nap at all, ever.

Therefore I think your mum is right, you should take her and see if half of her pm nap could be surgically removed and added to my dd?

I am most !

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 23/07/2006 21:18

My nephew was still having a pm nap just before he started Reception! My sis would still keep him home at least one pm a week even after he was supposed to be there fulltime because he found it so tiring. Some kids just need a lot of sleep.

hunkermunker · 23/07/2006 21:27

FGS! What she'd think of DS1 who is two and a quarter () and will sleep for four hours in the afternoon sometimes, I have no idea then.

DS1 sleeps more than DS2...!
