I get mine drycleaned but you can put them in a washing machine - just check the washload first and remember it will take in a lot of water!!!!

josiejump · 29/02/2004 21:30

Yes, you can take them to the launderette, tho' they need to have the large machines so check first.

I wash mine in my extra large american style washing machine. And dry it in my extra large american style dryer. But otherwise you can take it to the laundrette. It's important to dry it in the dryer, but be careful not to burn it in the laundrette dryers. If the heat is too hot it will melt the feathers. You should probably put it on low heat.

dry cleaners is best IMO twiglett - they are always clean, dry and fluffy after that, the launderette takes such a lot of time and money to dry them, the dry cleaners works out cheaper

Definitely go for the dry cleaners. I did ours a couple of weeks ago (ds threw up on it. Nice...) & it cost 15 quid, which I gulped at a bit, but totally worth it.

I went to launderette and paid 10 pounds per quilt, then was in Asda recently and saw brand new ones for 9.99. Was quite peed off about this. So have bought one and will replace in 6 months
