How long was it on the market before it was undef offer? Our estate agent reckoned it would be in under a fortnight. ^ weeks later no joy. Please cheer me up and tell me that isn't unusual.

I gave estate agent the property at 1pm .. they sent a girl round at 6pm .. had full asking price offer at 9am next morning and had to cancel 2 other viewings

2 sprogs here too. They hate mummy atm as they are either shoved in the garden to keep the house tidy or forced to put each toy away before the next one is allowed out. House is spotless windows always open, fresh flowers, all recently decorated or refreshed. I don't know what is wrong. We had quotes from all the local agents and they all said it would go very quickly (mind you they would) and yet nothing.

ours took 9weeks to sel.. got there in the end

now I am not bothered about toys tbh, if they come to view a house with a 3 yr old and a 23 month old, then they will have to look past the odd Barbie imo

we have had The World Cup as an excuse....er, it has FINISHED, and People Going On Holidays. Well I would still put an offer in on a house even if I had 2 weeks planned in Spain so stop lying to me you lying liar of a man.

ComeOVeneer · 18/07/2006 14:41

We had one offer a few weeks ago from a very dodgy bloke and it was too low. The only other offer we had was for the original fireplace in the dining room. Like I am going to rip that out when we have people coming round to view.

Ours was on the market for over a year if that makes you feel better. My house is spotless, more housedoctored than that annoying Anne bint herself & was not overpriced. We did however have extreme competition in that at any one time there were about another 6 to 10 houses similar up for sale. Then as each person became more desperate they'd cut the price right down so the prices in the whole estate have been lowered by about 20K on the last 18 months. We held out however, refused one lowish offer, had one offer fall through & last month we accepted one. It's still 15K less than we wanted really (and had been advised was easily achievable by 4 estate agents) but it's 10K more than an identical style went for round the corner 3 weeks before.
I do live opposite The Clampetts though which has not helped. So Good Luck & chin up. You should see the sh**e we're looking at described as walk-in! Walk-in toilets more like, where do some people get their ideas/taste & financial expectations from.

Our house was on the market for almost a year. But we got close to our asking price in the end, even though several agents told us we were crazy for asking that much.
