My ds2 is going to be 2 next month and naturally I want to spoil him rotten - I have some ideas, but am looking for any suggestions, especially anything a bit off the wall or unusual.....thanks!!

aquadraw is fab....and only costs 19.99. have u got one

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2006 12:54

He's NOT going to be 2, you are lying

He's still a cuddly little baby, you are making it all up...

My standard suggestion is real percussion instruments but I bet you already have loads. How about a small gamelan?

I will think some more...

'Likeabike Mini Mountain' looks fab.

Will have a look at the bike, thanks His brother has a bike which he envies, so it might be nice for him to have something similar he could scoot about on while he's little.

Haven't got Aquadraw but have got Megasketcher, is it very different?

Yes, Franny, he does have loads.... but more would be great, what's a gamelan? ds2 is really affected by music and loves making different sounds with instruments. The plastic shite in the ELC didn't fill me with enthusiasm... there's a shop in Totnes which sells lots of "world instruments" though, mught have to pay a visit.

I know, 2 already .... hence the insane broodiness

Lovely site here with musical instruments, and other stuff. Haven't bought from them, but often browse and drool...

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2006 13:07

Greeny, have you been scrapping again?

noonar · 10/07/2006 13:07
Blush

A Gamelan (just a small one)

CarolinaMoose · 10/07/2006 13:09

nice percussion (inc properly tuned percussion) here too .

I know a 2yo who is rarely seen out without his Likeabike - fab, if a bit pricey.

FrannyandZooey · 10/07/2006 13:09

Don't blush noonar she is a holy terror

I bet she started it as well

A proper glockenspiel will set you back about £20 and is a good investment for a musical child IMO. Also those little 4 string coloured ukeleles are fab, do you know the ones I mean?

JackieNo · 10/07/2006 13:13

Couple of pentatonic glockenspiels on my link, also a fab looking 'Stirring Xylophone' that I've only just noticed.
