With tomorrow being the 14th, I wondered what is the most romantic thing someone has done for you, or the maddest thing you have done for somone else?

I remember being 18 (and so in love!!??) and boyfriend had to work, so I cooked a Sunday lunch and drove 75 miles for him to heat it up in works microwave and then drove home again!

I know, sad, sad!

After I'd had Baby1, feeling emotional etc, in bed one morning and hubby bought me some breakfast, I was eating alpen at the time and hated the raisins, so always used to pick them out. And that morning he presented me with my alpen minus raisins. Oh, he does love me, sob, sob.

Its usually the little things isnt it, that are the true love and romance. Although I'm sure I'd be very appreciative of a grand gesture. Anyone had one of those? Whisked of somewhere luvverly?

feel very guilty - after my last posting, dh came home last night with very expensive silk undies from selfridges. (Can't get into them yet, but they are my old size, so am determined to, very soon!). Oh dear, after all those nasty things I said about him, too........ the shame, the shame!

Came back from a late trip from the supermarket and dd came toddling up to greet me holding a Tiffany bag with a pair of diamond earrings inside (from dp I hasten to add)! COMPLETELY OUT OF CHARACTER...probably find out he's having an affair. Very very lovely surprise though as had coveted for ages.

Oh,Enid!! Lucky you!! I would have been happy with a bunch of flowers but had to settle for a virtual bunch sent by e mail. The old scrooge!

Tiffany earings!! You must be chuffed.

Enid, if he was having an affair she would have got the Tiffany earrings

on our seventh year together dh (at the time still boyfried we were only 22) organised a treasure hunt in his flat and I found 7 stuffed animal toys hidden all arranged on his desk in size order. (a bit tacky I know but I used to love the stuff!!).

Unfortunately his romance seems to go down with age, this V he called me at 7 from the office saying: "I did not get you anything do you mind?" "a little but there's no point in getting anything now" was my reply, secretetlt hoping that he would get the hint and buy me some flowers on the way home....he didn't.

(he did the same when dd was born, came to hospital the day after saying, I wanted to get you flowers but I forgot..... After 3 months of pestering and less than sublte hints from me, my sister and friends he finally buys me a diamond ring -never got an engagement one- to celebrate the birth of our daughter and 3 years of marriage, still it did not feel as nice as it would have been if it was unecxpected....and I had to choose the ring among a selection he brought home, not even the satisfaction of opening a parcel!!!!!!!!)
