Thought I'd ask you all what you plan to do to keep the LO's happy during the long break. Mine are 7, 4,3 and I've got three weeks without DH at home. We'll be meeting up with old friends some days, lots of crafts one or two days out ie. farm visits etc. I can't afford to spend loads, but wondered if anyones got any ideas to inspire me.

Washing popular here too, similar to the washing up liquid bottles but sometimes I just give mine a large paintbrush and a bucket of water for them to 'paint' the shed. Even the nearly 7 yr old enjoys it.

Mine are teenagers now but when they were little they loved anything to do with water .Give them a bucket of bubbly water and let them clean their bikes. On a hot day I used to give them chunky paintbrushes and a tub of water and they 'painted' pictures on the patio. i tink a box of chalk is a bout 50p and they used to love colouring the patio with that too.

Where I live there is a free childrens activity day every Thursday at a local park, it's run by the council and there are crafty things for them to do and such like. There's also a local gym running sessions.

What with that, seeing friends, some days out we've got planned and a weeks holiday, it will be September before I know it!
