probably the seller, some are abit sotty about zero feedback.

Cheeky of them really, everyone has to start somewhere.

LadyTophamHatt · 04/07/2006 17:15

snotty not sotty!

It is the seller who has done this due to you having no feedback. People tend to do it when they have been screwed over by people with low feedback scores.

It's the seller - if you look on the item listing they will probably have written somewhere that they won't take bids from people with less than a certain no of positive feedbacks. Sometimes they will accept your bid if you email them first (though why they think this will make a differnece, I'm not too sure!). They do it because some winning bidders then don't pay up, and I suppose if you're new, you don't have proof yet that you're a reliable ebayer but I think it's unfair. But try emailing the seller and saying that you're serious about wanting the item. Good luck!

what a miserable seller! their loss

FrannyandZooey · 04/07/2006 18:32

To be fair to the seller, I have had some ruddy nightmares with new buyers. You often have to hold their hand through the whole process, take a lot of time via email explaining how things work and they can take ages to reply and even longer to pay.

I personally am ok with this and accept bids from anyone, but a large volume seller may simply not have the time to deal with new buyers in this way. Don't be offended, someone else will happily take your money

NotQuiteCockney · 04/07/2006 18:37

I've dealt with people saying "email first if you have feedback below 10" or similar. And it's been fine, but I have always emailed them first.

Every so often, someone runs amuck on ebay, bidding madly on everything, with 0 feedback and actually not buying anything.
