Or perhaps you already have?

No, I think it looks silly and its very vain. I think it's an insult to people with serious illnesses if you need to fix a healthy body. Appreciate what you have got!

jellyjelly · 29/06/2006 20:28

Would have mine lifted but not implants, i dont like the idea of them.

Caligula · 29/06/2006 20:33

No chance.

spidermama · 29/06/2006 20:36

There's another thread atm about a woman who's had implants trying but not managing to BF after being told she would manage.

stitch · 29/06/2006 20:36

difficult question really as i understand the huge risk s of unnessary surgerty.
id love a tummy tuck at the moment, but becaus its not something i can afford, i can easily dream about it.
same with a breast lift thing.

I have developed a way of thinking about my appearance recently that I'm really quite chuffed with. If I find myself lamenting my wobbly tum I remind myself that I could - if I wanted - change it - by eating less ice-cream and doing more exercise. but I have chosen not to. ie I remind myself that I have other priorities - other things I prefer to do with my time. This actually makes me feel a bit smug - I am bigger (ho ho) than people who starve themselves and spend longer than is healthy in the gym. and if this version of me comes with a wobbly tum, that's just how it is. And if I'm not prepared to get rid of my tum through exercise and diet I'm certainly never going to go under the knife. nope this is as good as it gets.

My friend's having a double mastectomy and reconstruction because she carries the gene that causes breast cancer so she's going for preventative surgery. She's almost looking forward to it because she gets to choose what size breasts she gets, plus, they aren't putting in silicone (because it's not cosmetic surgery), they're taking fat from her tummy to rebuild her boobs. She thinks it's great that she gets bigger boobs and a flatter tummy.
Horrendous position to be in, having to decide whether to have the op but she's looking on the bright side that there are benefits.

Can i just say, there are boob jobs, and there are boob jobs......

Not all involve inplants either. I dont know if i would. Whilst im currently still breastfeeding, i dont really see a need too....

expatinscotland · 29/06/2006 21:13

no.

one of my best friends had one. we were both single at the time, so i provided all her after-care. yikes!

BUT, the results were great and 5 years on she's very pleased.

puff · 29/06/2006 21:15

Would love to go down from an FF cup to a D, so yes - reduction and lift.

drpepper · 29/06/2006 21:22

my sister had hers done on a whim after i had wanted mine done for years and hers look great although now she is pregnant she may have to have them done again after the baby ! i would love to get mine done have done since i was about 16 ! i went for a consultation when i was 18 and was told i should wait until i had had kids which i have now done so i am back to seriously thinking about it and now would also want a tummy tuck ! its not vanity i would not do it to look good for other people but i am so unconfident in the way i look and feel about my body, i hate getting naked with my dp and i think the surgery would help ! my dp hates the idea and doesnt want me to get it done so for now i am gonna hit the gym to tone up the belly isnt much i can do about the boobs but get used to them and try to learn to put up with them and try to boost my self confidence in other ways !

Tanktop · 29/06/2006 21:31

Would love a boob job. Never had much to begin with but after breastfeeding they are a very sad state of affairs. Just B cup would be nice. boo hoo.

waggledancer · 29/06/2006 22:19

Mine are very sad after 3 lots of breastfeeding. I could never contemplate going without an underwired bra and cannot do strapless. That said I have witnessed boob jobs done in plastic surgery and also corrections so will continue to rely on bravissimo and figleaves

Gobbledigook · 29/06/2006 22:21

No. I wouldn't have any unnecessary surgery. The only part I'm that bothered about is my bunion so I might ahve that done!!

MABS · 30/06/2006 18:52

don't want em bigger but am defo considering a lift.

I would love bigger boobs but only if I could be sure they would look as "natural" as possible

Rhubarb · 30/06/2006 18:58

I'm too cowardly to even get a mole removed! I have small boobs but wouldn't get them done because there is nothing wrong with them. I hate being made to feel that I should have bigger boobs by society. It is a pain when I try on clothes that would otherwise be lovely but that just hang on me. Apart from that I feel reasonably ok with my lot and would never get cosmetic surgery done because that would be taking away a part of me, and I think I'm ok as I am!
