ds1 asked her where her mommy was, she was two, or less. he then took her round all the groups of people till he found her mummy. and what does she do?
she glares at him.

ungrateful cow.

ds1 is nine. that doesnt mean he is a juvenile delingquent. he is very caring and generous. and very very good with young babies. am really really angry at the cow.

and what am i supposed to say to ds? ignore crying babies who are so obviously lost?
grrr...

she's a cheeky bitch, stitch. hope your ds wasn't upset by her. she probably heard the child crying but couldn't be arsed to go and comfort her. horrible person Angry

he was more confused than upset. which i feel shows his innocence more.
i told him that in future to grab hold of one of the people who work there, and get them to find the mom.

your'e right about being lazy, the place isnt really big enough for a child to get completely and utterly lost. my 3 year old happily runs round the place,

Disgraceful. Praise your ds for his resourcefulness and compassion, and explain that the mum was probably embarassed by losing her child, hence her unpleasant reaction. It's not just because a young boy brought the child back, I've had that sort of thing happen when I've found a lost child and returned it to its parent. A good idea to get a member of staff to look after the child - then nobody can accuse the rescuer of anything.

stich - grrrrrrr - had a similar experience with my DS this morning at playgroup, when I stopped a little boy from running out through the gate and walked him over to his Mum who was busy talking to a friend - it was Glare City

I think you & your kind DS should have a special treat/big cake!

What a lovely little boy. You should be really proud of him. The mother was probably enjoying a good undisturbed natter and probably felt guilty as it was ...he just made her feel worse. As he should. Hope she falls off the treadmill....GrinOr wasn't it that kind of gym....

No, he did the right thing totally. And I hope he doesn't get put off helping again.

And I stopped a toddler from running onto a road once...mother came up, grabbed the child's hand from mine very roughly and said' he knows better than to run onto a road thankyou!' and stormed off ........

I can only suppose that there are a lot of mothers out there who feel inadequate and insecure about their abilities and take any outside intervention as a negative comment.
