She hated it, screamed and shook. She was trying to scramble out of her car seat :(

When the washer things had gone past once she said "Mummy, all gone now" then when she realised they were coming back again she started shouting "No mummy, all gone all gone"

I felt absolutely terrible but DP just giggled, what a meanie !

Ah, bless her. I took my mum in one last week for the first time and she was much the same, came over all peculiar and asked me to take her home Grin. Must remember that in future Grin.

She's 2 btw, think I might have scared her for life.

I'm with you dd on this - I still think they're scary and I'm over 40Blush

I've got this idea that I'll have to get out for some reason cos it's got stuck and I'll get attacked by the big bristly thing.

We took DD to a car wash for the first time when he was about 14 months old. We thought it would be a big treat. I have never seen him so frightened. I was the one scrambling out of my seat into the back to try to comfort him. We haven't returned. I think he thought it was going to eat us...

poor dd!

my dd hates them aswell (ds loves them) - last time we went (ages ago) as it was starting, she said
'Please mummy, make sure my window is closed' (in a panicky voice)

I leaned over and pushed the window opener (thinking I was closing it) and must have gone the wrong way so the window opened half way and she got sprayed by the jet in her seat - she was soaked (thank goodness the bristles hadn't started!). Needless to say, we've not been back since then Grin

Nice DP you've got Esmummy.

None of mine will stay in the car through the car wash, and they're 8,6 and 2.7. I have to either go alone, or take it to a jet wash and let them watch from outside. I have to say I don't really like them that much, I'm always a tiny bit convinced that the dryer will just keep going straight and will take the top of the car off Blush

Esmummy · 14/06/2006 11:09

I usually think like that serenity, i usually lower my seat into a laying down position but didn't want to make DD feel even worse so just braved it.
Needless to say we wont be going back again with DD in tow

DS used t obe really scared of them but I call them the Rubber-dubbers (he loves that show). When it starts up, we sing the rubber-dubbers theme song in the car and he loves it. Give that a try. Or for giggling like a meanie, make DP wash the car Grin

Esmummy · 14/06/2006 11:26

gscrym Grin That's a good one, sure he wouldn't find that funny at all.
DD loves Rubber Dubbers too, maybe will try that next time. She's got a thing about rain at the minute, when it rains she stands at the patio doors just watching it for ages. I tried telling her it was raining etc but she was not having a bar of it
