horrors of country living

I realised tonight that I drive 40 miles taking dd to and from her youthclub! So much for a slower pace of life in the country. What I'd give to live in a decent town again.

Shock What a 'mare! I moan about 15 min drive to shops......
handlemecarefully · 14/06/2006 00:12

The longest we have to drive is circa 20 miles (round trip) for dd's ballet, although there are classes that are a little nearer.

Don't miss town / city living.

can you car share with a friend ? One do the drop off and one do the pick up - that would halve it. Presumably you are 10 miles from the youth club ?

swedishmum · 14/06/2006 10:26

Dd is at a school in town and unfortunately no-one else round here goes to that youth club (it's where her friends go and she was the only one from her primary to go to that grammar school I really want her to mix - she's quite shy). Wouldn't normally moan but when dh is away I have to load the toddler in the car. I was just wondering why the car needs filling up with petrol so often - now I know! I'm keeping a tally this week of mum-taxi miles.

143 miles in 2 days - no wonder I never get anything done in the house! That's just school runs and after school activities, plus one supermarket trip to buy trousers for their dance show.

swedishmum · 14/06/2006 22:23

Probably for the same reason they do tractor stuff involving poo behind our house whenever we entertain Grin
