My girlfriend and I have finally decided to move in together. It's a big step, but it feels so natural.

I know it's a mums forum and this is exactly why I am writing here. I have noticed that people are always helping eachother and answering questions, giving good tips. What better place to ask for some advise.

So I am moving out from my place. I work almost everyday, so I really don't have time to do a deep cleaning around the flat. I can vacuum, dust around and wash the curtains, but washing the carpet, windows, the walls - that would take me a day or two. And I prefer spending my free time with my girl or enjoying the summer.

My question is - do you know any good end of tenancy cleaning companies? I don't want something really expensive.

P.S. I'm talking about London.

hi ! Nothing will be cheap in london !! the best advice i can offer - (as I work everyday - so had to come up with something that works for me !) is to split the jobs down on paper and work you roughly how long each will take( remember some you can do concurrently) you will soon work out how to accomplish everything over time . it is just a way if life to me now - I can't just say - I work - therefore i need a cleaner ! so if you want to be one of the men we don't moan about on here - be orgsnised and take care of your own cleaning and dont leave your stuff everywhere !! a considerate boyfriend - who enters a relationship with a plan of action as to how you can both organise the hum drum stuff together - to then allow you time to spend quality days out - will always be valued better than one who expects someone else to do it ! ( unless ofcourse you can afford to hire a house keeper !)

don't let the Honeymoon period wear off - it's so much nicer to keep it ongoing !!

best of luck to you both in this new chapter of your lives ! :-)

It's not like I am not organised. I keep my things clean. You won't find dust on my furniture or dishes in the sink. You might find the occasional sock on the floor, but I like my clothes clean. It's just that I really don't have that much time to do the big things. Have you seen landlord checklists? I'll need some heavy machinery do clean everything.

A friend of mine just suggested these end of tenancy cleaners www.endoftenancycleaninglondon.co.uk/. It looks there are a lot of discounts and they have a big checklist... Don't know about the prices. About £192 for the cleaning and carpet, £80 for the rubbish and the numbers continue. I have a feeling half my salary will go for this.

I think I'll use your advise @theWookiesWife - get an extra day off and start cleaning. I'll ask for people who have vacuum cleaners that can be used for washing carpets. And buying all the products from the local market will be a lot cheaper than the cleaning services.

Hey, lover boy! :D I hope you and your GF get to live together just fine! About your question - you kind'a conflict yourself. You say that you don't have time to clean, because you prefer to spend time with your girl and enjoy the summer. Well, moving out is a one time thing in a year or even more rare. You can have the entire summer to yourself and her if you spend a day or two preparing for the move out. She would understand. And why don't you invite her to help you out? You WILL be sharing household duties soon, after all. As the Wookie have said - nothing is cheap in London :( The cleaners you mentioned look fair. At least their prices are good enough. But i think that the two of you can deal with this without any professional help. At least in regards to cleaning. Cheers!

You could try asking over on the forces wives talkboard- they all have to have their accommodation spotless when they move out, and as most have children, jobs, etc I think a lot use companies to get it to pass muster.
I've always done it myself tbh, but always after I've moved out, as it is a million times easier! Always have to pay rent/bills for those few extra days too, boooooo.
