As you might have seen from recent threads ive had a tough time with dh and his family and ive decided that instead of sending him to his poisonious mothers for a week whilst i have space to think etc, (she will make it worse by filling his brain with crap!) that it would be best if me and the kids went away for a few days.

But where to go! It would need to be very very cheap. In the UK, available at short notice - ie tommorrow. Me and 2 little ones. just for a few days.

I need a break!

Tamba Sad I've read the other thread about your husband

I can understand why you don't want to send him to his mum's

Sorry I haven't got any good suggestions about where to stay.

Do you have a friend you could stay with just overnight? You could spend all day tomorrow out with your lo's, spend night at friends then have another day out on Monday not returning til the evening. That should give him a shock at least?

Or do the same and stay somewhere like a travelodge? Pretty sure they do discounts/offers if you book online

Sorry not much help but wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you

PS Also saw you photo, FAB cleavage!!!Smile

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 10/06/2006 21:01

Ive actually come to realise that I dont have any real friends that I could go too :( I have people that I can talk to , but not anyone that I could just call and ask if we could come and stay iyswim. My one friend, who I could go to only has a one bedroom place and there is already her and her daughter there.

I am looking at travel Inns etc, Maybe I can tell the kids its a holiday. Am going to look at the Haven website and see if theres anything extreamly cheap on there.

I wish I had a bigger house - I'd invite you here! The weather is fab, and I've always thought you sounded nice :)

singledadofthree · 10/06/2006 21:07

hey
have you any holiday parks with big static caravans nearby? you may well get one real cheap for a couple of nights, as schools are in.
hope you get things sorted :)

gigglinggoblin · 10/06/2006 21:09

camping! they would love it and you dont have to be organised because you cant be. somewhere near a beach where they can just run around and you can sit and chill for a while

sorry you are having a crap time

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 10/06/2006 21:09

milward · 10/06/2006 21:25

www.yha.org.uk/

is the main link & then check types of accomodation & then families. Don't know why copy & paste doesn't work!! :) Good luck :)

singledadofthree · 10/06/2006 21:26

tamba - am thinking of your kids when i say - dont forget YH are full of scruffy young travellers. i know i'd love it but dont forget ds's - might be a shock.

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 10/06/2006 21:28

Thanks Milward :)

SDO3 - Tbh, I would rather face scruffy travellers than the wrath of the in laws tommorrow.

Am hoping to disappear in the morning!

thought \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=86508&topicid=9&threadid=181558&redir=86508\this} might help too Tamba. Good luck and sorry I can't be of help to you

singledadofthree · 10/06/2006 21:31

i see your point - have been there too - sure you'll be ok, just enjoy it, sounds like you need serious time out.

juuule · 10/06/2006 21:35

SDO3 - My dad (72) is a member of YHA and always went on at me to try Youth Hostelling with my children. Said all the places that he stayed at were all very friendly places and that the kids would love it. Family rooms aswell. All ages welcome. I didn't follow up on his advice at the time but think I might have a look now that I've been reminded. Don't think it's all "scruffy young travellers". He was still staying at the hostels until about 3 years ago. I haven't got first hand experience of them but I don't think he would encourage me to try something that he didn't think well of.

juuule · 10/06/2006 21:38

Tamba - I've done the week away thing. Well it was a midweek break at a Haven site with 5 little ones. We didn't take much with us and it was just what we needed. Hope you get the space you need.

singledadofthree · 10/06/2006 21:48

never been in one - just going by what kids have said - should know better of course.

juuule · 10/06/2006 21:54

I've never been in one either - just going off what my dad said Wink maybe he's a "scruffy old traveller" when he's out youth hostelling :o.
