there is nothing like that feeling. I was at Murrayfield the year that scotland won the grandslam 1984 i think. playing england and scotland walked out onto the pitch. hairs on neck stuff. wasnt at this years win over england as was due to drop ds2

I think my DS's name is a good Irish rugby name - Rory Wilson, Irish captain - and he's MASSIVE so far, so you never know...

Over here, tickets are like gold dust. I'd like to being my Mum to Dublin - she's a good rugby woman too

i have every intention that my two boys are rugby player and they are also big. number 8 seems a good bet. Tickets up here are not to bad though i am lucky as i have seats at Murrayfirld that used to belong to my parents but they dont go through these days. Next time scotland is playing Ireland at Murrayfield you should come with me as dh is not that interested and ds1 is still to young

Hiya
Only just seen this, another women who likes rugby.

come on wales!!!

And yes, the wales v scotland games are amazing, come on, lets all sing!!

saltire · 04/06/2006 14:20

I've never been to a Scotland v Wales game at the Millenium Stadium yet, but have been to several when they were at Cardiff Arms Park, great atmosphere. Nicknack, the game you were on about, when Scotland walked onto the pitch was 1990, although they did win the Grand Slam in 1984, the one in 1990 was better, it was England v Scotland and whichever team won would take the Grand Slam, I was there that day too, it was Dh's 21st.

nicnack2 · 04/06/2006 14:34

ur right saltire it was 1990, i was there (time hasnt past quite as quick as i thought Wink. DH and i farm out the kids to whoever will have them when wales is playing scotland at Murrayfield.(its the only one dh is really keen to go to) The pubs around MF are choca and the atmosphere is supberb.

I've spent the whole match in a pub near Murrayfield once, it was great. We never take the kids to Murrayfield either, although DS1 is interested in rugby, he would get bored. I grew up in the Borders, where rugby is idolised!
