How do you refer to other women, unknown to you, when talking to your children?

Possibly because I'm German I'm always unsure how to refer to other women I don't know when talking to my children - as for example in "Give the money to the lady" (in the shop) or "Make room for the lady"

Would you say that? Or not? Or what else?

I refer to women as 'Lady' and have always referred to men as 'master' . I am from Manchester and nearly everyone i know uses master & lady.

master or mister

have never heard anyone use master .. and I'm from manc-land too .. quietly appalled at connotations tbh

I'm also a Manc and never used Mister or Master
