Have You Experienced Random Acts of Kindness?

Experienced two random acts of kindness in one day, how brilliant!

  1. Today DH gave DD £10: £5 pocket money + £5 to come back in change. DD went to our local music shop to buy a capo (clamp) for her guitar. Discovering that the capos started at £7, she rang to ask could she take the extra money? Before I could even say yes, I could hear someone offering her the £2. Turns out a stranger gave her the £2 (and no monkey business about it either), so thank you so much whoever you are!

  2. Then on the way home from the music shop DD was playing on a green about 15 mins walk from home. When she got home she realised she'd misplaced the aforementioned capo at the green. I gave her a lift back, but we could not find it. DD asked a group of three Mums if they had seen it but, alas, they had not. Queue two disappointed people returning home empty-handed.

But later this evening there was a knock at the door. To my utter surprise there was one of the Mums, with three children, and the capo! One of the girls had found it and they walked all the way to our house to return it. I was amazed. I asked how did you know where we lived?! The Mum said she recognised DD from school runs to the primary school, so she figured we lived on this Close. So they walked here and knocked on two doors to hunt us down.

What fabulously kind people to go to all that trouble! I said thank you and I wanted to show them how much I appreciated their effort, but I didn't have much in the house, so all I was able to give the girls was a share bag of toffee popcorn. It was only afterwards that thought that I should have at least asked their names and offered them a lift back. So I just want to say thank you so much, whoever you are.

Kind, kind people!

Faith in human nature restored, and it made me curious about what random acts of kindness you've experienced?

This morning I was in a shopping centre with DS2 and we were looking at a fountain.

A girl of around 7 had been playing at the other side, flicking in coins, when she looked up and saw us. She trotted around to us, and asked if DS would like one of her coins to throw in. Absolutely lovely, she had no prompting from anyone, she just wanted to share her joy.

no, but ive done them.

i gave a total stranger a lift home from hospital a few weeks ago as her daughter had to go to work and leave her.

i went to an elderly neighbour on xmas eve who had no shopping in, so i went and bought her a load of stuff to keep her going over xmas.

i have just given away 2 lawn mowers.

i picked up a stray dog and took it to my vets who found it was micro chipped so i delivered it back

i pay it forward alot.....its never come back to me but i live in hope!

I'm like Vicar... I do as much as I can but never seem to get any back.

Everyday things include:

Complementing people if I like what they are wearing.
Letting people out of side roads
sending cards/ notes to friends if they are having a rough time. Or just because
Sending a text to someone I've not been in touch with for a while

Other things:
Calling at my sister's house & planting flowers in her front garden, weeding & sweeping, just because. I often nip in & drop off a cake or flowers.
I host afternoon tea occasionally for a group of elderly folk with no family

DS & I have been noticing pretty gardens & plan on putting a note through their door to say how much we like them when we pass

I used to give blood but am no longer able to. I make an effort to donate food, clothing, books, stuff as much as I can.

A RAK from a seven year old is truly amazing!

I hope you all experience RAK very soon, it really made my day!

I love RAK. It's so basic and can make someone's day.
I try to do one everytime the opportunity arises. I believe in karma, but that's not why I do it. It makes me smile.

I try and pass it on when I can.

Give someone the extra money for a parking ticket, let someone with fewer items go in front of me at the checkout. That kind of simple thing makes my day.

My favourite is passing on my trolley with the pound coin still in. It is then upto that person to pass it on or just take the pound. I am happy either way.

I've had a day rider bus ticket given to me a couple of times.

Dd was being a nightmare in town, and a middle aged woman approached me (i thought she was going to berate me for dd's behaviour/my parenting) and she just told me I was doing a great job and my dcs were lovely! :)
