It's not that important, really, I'm just cross as I don't understand - it's a no noise - as if someone hasn't put the phone down. I'm sure in the morning it will be okay. But if I post my number - could someone report it?

When I tried to report a fault on my parents' line they wouldn't let me as I wasn't the account holder (NTL). I was going "but...their phone isn't working..they can't ring to report the fault!"
