bouncy castle? will one fit? if so, they are fantastic, really recommend it.

You could find out if any toddler groups are run from that church hall, they would have stuff stored there then and might be willing to 'hire' it to you.

Sorry, meant to add bouncy castle is an excellent idea!

You're welcome

No, I haven't used them I'm afraid, just a bit of inspired googling! Hope it all goes well.

Twiglett, how about a toy library? There is one at Charlton House in SE7 and they have a good selection of toys big and small.

My friend had a party in a church hall in Norwood High St and the kids were able to use the toys that belonged to the playgroup. This is the party that the three year old birthday boy flatly refused to come to! The other kids had a superb time! Oh, yes, and they hired a small bouncy castle that was very popular.

Twiglett, how about offering a bit more money for the 'inconvenience'? If you pester a bit they might well give in just to stop you bothering them. This approach works well in many areas of life.

That Oscar's Den looks brill - they have a ball pond - I want one!

(But could you use a company that talks about "peddle" cars....? )

Janh · 29/01/2004 19:29

They have an inflatable hotline too...

Blooming heck! Sorry to have sent you on a wild goose chase. Have you got one of those folding tunnels? They're quite cheap (considerably less than hiring from Oscar's Den by the sounds of it), and a couple of those would keep toddlers going for ages. What about asking the other guests' parents if they could bring anything along?

Not sure about where you are, but in West London there seem to be quite a few toy "libraries" which everyone can use. You can find out about them by ringing the early years dept in your council. I know someone near me who did that for her son's party.
