Hi, I live in Tenterden, v close to Benenden. DH comutes from Headcorn via CharingX to Blackfriars, 1.25 hours door to door. Tenterden fantastic small market town and I have 3 dogs so am world expert on dog walking down here. Commuting from Ashford will be fantastic once link is finished so house prices in the villages here will rise quickly - buy before the rush! Have 4 kids so also know schools round here. If you come down to househunt and bring the dog I would be v happy to meet you for a dog walk etc etc

Hi silverfrog - I am ex Cranbrook so have a hideous cappucino in the deli habit: maybe we could have a mini mini MN meetup?

I lived in Paddock Wood for 6 years as a teenager and went to the grammar school in Tonbridge.Parents still live there

My brothers live in Pembury and Tunbridge Wells and my sister lives in Sevenoaks.
They all privately rent and the prices are horrendous

callmemadam (like the nickname) do your children go to state school locally ?

Callmemadam · 16/05/2006 22:46

Cam, not, I'm afraid they don't: they are littered around various Kent schools, but I know quite a bit about the ones local to me if you have a query? There are some really really good state schools in this part of Kent.

That's even better, Callmemadam, as I'm interested in the independent/private sector at 13+. My dd is currently at a prep where we have to start looking to get her name down in a senior school during the coming academic year (year 5).

Are any of yours at senior level?

PinkKerPlink · 18/05/2006 08:27

Watching this thread with interest as DH and I are planning a move to an area with excellent schools and access to London. I can't tell you how helpful this has been!

Callmemadam · 18/05/2006 18:40

Cam, ds1 is at King's Canterbury and'loves every minute of every day'! Co-ed, cosmopolitan, very strong pastoral care. We are very happy and his siblings will hopefully follow him there.

Cam · 18/05/2006 23:24

I was talking to someone only today whose daughter is there.

Does your ds board?

Callmemadam · 19/05/2006 19:05

Yes, and loves it. He's in Remove. What school is your dd at?

charliecat · 19/05/2006 19:34

Countess, I have got the local papers property bit if you want me to send it on to you:)

Cam · 20/05/2006 09:38

Callmemadam, my dd is at a school in East Sussex not far from the Kent border (don't wish to post the name of it on www) with Kings as one of the schools it feeds.

whiffy · 23/05/2006 15:41

Callmemadam, my ds is down for prep there - did your do Kings' prep or just senior?
