Anyone know where I can buy boys shorts that aren't ankle length?

I've been looking and looking and looking (Next, Boden, Asda, Tesco) and it seems that below the knee (which ends up at the ankle if your boy needs the bigger size to cover his tummy!!!) is all you can buy for boys.

I bought a couple of pairs because they look quite good but I'd like some that are on or above the knee too and can't find any. Just looking for some plain ones, denim or stone colour.

Boring thread but I have two dds who are easy, easy, easy to buy gorgeous stuff for but boys stuff is so damn hard and always covered in "monkey arse" or "I'm a shitebag" slogans which I HATE (ooo, rant over).

I got some in debenhams, Jasper conran ones. Proper shaped shorts, in navy and brown. Smile

Kelly1978 · 10/05/2006 17:34

I mean plain navy shorts and brown shorts, not navy and brown together btw! They were ideal for mine for with tshirts.

I got some from Asda for DS (2.6) - £2 each - navy and stone, they are on the knee on him, but that's because I bought 2-3 and he's really still in 18-24 on the bottom.

I got some in Sainsburys (a 2 pack) but not before I'd bought 2 pairs that practically reach his ankle from other shops. What is the point in long shorts for little boys? Ridiculous!

Cod and Kelly to the rescue! Thanks girls, trip planned. Grin

Ta Jones. Foxinsock I KNOW, its mad. I'm flicking through the JMB catalogue and its the same, not ONE pair of real shorts. Crazy people.

foxinsocks, I actually quite like the long ones, got some from mothercare, that come down to mid shin. They stop them from scraping their knees when they fall over!

foxinsocks · 10/05/2006 17:39

ds actually trips over them - they sort of disrupt his running action because his knees can't go up and down nicely!

frumpygrumpy · 10/05/2006 17:42

Now, here's the REAL problem. What kind of shorts can I buy for me that make me look amazing when my legs actually look like upside down milk bottles?

describe you r legs

frumpygrumpy · 10/05/2006 17:55

What "upside down milk bottles" didn't cover it??!!! Grin

short, hairy, chunky knees, v wobbly thighs, oversized calves, just hideous and disgusting actually.

I'm ok from the waist up (size 12, small waist) but on holiday I think I have to wear shorts some of the time.

I stick to very long skirts, cos I have terrible legs too. I do have one pair of short cropped trousers - butterfly from debenhams that are very pale and pretty. Butterfly are very generous on their sizes and a flattering cut, might be worth a look if you go there lookign for the boy's shorts.

cod · 10/05/2006 18:09

yes id bin shorts int hat case

Jzee · 10/05/2006 18:10

probaly H & M

fattiemumma · 10/05/2006 18:31

im having similar probs FG.

DS is 5 but he isquite big built so to getthem to fit his waist i need a bigger size, which then makes these 3/4 lngth ones hit him round his ankles.

he just looks like he has borrowed his dads! either that or his younger brothers trousers.

the only place i have been able to find what i call SHORTS is the sports shop but they are the kind of football short things that i think are for playing in the garden or for exceptionally hot days

Thanks girls
