Just a little rant, probably should go in legal/money but I want to have a good rant so its going here!

My lovely co-operative ex has told the CSA that he has his step-son from his previous marriage living with him.Which means less money for my DD. This is not the truth, but how to prove it? Does anyone know if its up to me to prove it? Cant get no sense from the CSA (again)

If hes living with his mum (im 99% sure he is) then she will be claiming child benefit and tax credit for him. So if he keeps saying that the boy lives with him, then Ill contact the benefit fraud people and get them to check it out

Any advice? Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Welshboris, I reckon the CSA would require proof (in the form of something re: Child Benefit) from him - has the CSA actually made a decision yet?

Sorry you're having to deal with an arse of an ex Sad

Thanks spacedonkey for taking the time to reply

I hope they do need proof, he is only being awkward just to be a pain the ass

Thanks again x

Grrr - did you find out about this from the CSA or from him? Because if it's from him, my guess is that he is telling you purely to piss you off SadAngry

Can you tell I have a pain in the arse ex too? Grin

Think this is a tricky one as it depends on how many days a year he has said that he is living with him. It works on bands.... so the more days he has him a week the less money he would have to pay. He can have him 2/3 days a week and still not claim the child benefit but would pay less in maintenace. There is a table on the CSA website where you can enter figures and get a rough estimate of money he should be paying.

fattiemumma · 06/05/2006 11:03

wow you got a response from teh CSA...well hunny be thankfull of that cos its more than some get.

i would take no notice until it is confirmed by the CSA in a leter. then take steps to prove that he isnt living with him and if needs be shop them to the benefits people

I had a letter from the CSA this morning with the maitenance calculation on it, it states that he has a child living with him.

Ill give it til Tuesday, then ring the CSA back and contact the benefit fraud people if neccessary. If it turns out to be right, then at least Ive tried.

Anyone else experience of this?

can you not get someone from a local office to come and see you?

from the opposite end of the coin, my H requested this to sort out his maintenance (they were overcharging him to the tune of £225 a month)

the csa are just useless, it isnt even worth bothering with thenm. they dont know what they are diong

WelshBoris · 08/05/2006 10:43

When I finish work Im going to ring the CSA. Like I said, hopefully they require some sort of proof that he has his stepson living there. I hope I dont have to ring benefit fraud, but my daughter comes first

Been told by the CSA that I have to prove that he doesnt have a child living there Shock

So looks like Ill have to ring the benefit fraud number
