Bracknell - anyone live there? Should I move there?

We're trying to buy a house in the Berkshire area. I don't know Bracknell at all, but it seems to be the only place we can afford a 3 bedroom house. Does anyone live there, what's it like for families, and are there any areas we should definitely avoid??

DH works in Virginia Waters / Staines area. (Needs the car). Also much travelling to Oxford, so we don't want to go too far south into Surrey. Geographically, Windsor would be perfect!! Financially, Windsor is NEVER going to happen...

I live in Bracknell and have done all my life.

It does have its good points such as lots of parks,South Hill,Coral Reef.
Ot also has bad points already brought up on here.I personally cant wait to move out of Brcknell but thats me.

Neighbourhoods to avoid are Great Hollands,Bullbrook and some say Easthampstead.

Like I say,like you would get with any town theres the good and the bad.

Some of the Bracknell entries are way out of date about the town centre and shopping. Bracknell has had the centre flattened and a massive new town centre and shopping area is being built at a cost of £200 million. Scheduled to be opened in 2017.

Not surprising it's out of date as the post is 10 years old.
