been looking for a new pushchair,ds(6) broke dds mamas and papas pliko.was going to get another pliko, but just seen the silver cross linear freeway and quite like it!dd is small for her age and because of her having cf and asthma, would be handy to be able to have her facing me (ive got an icoo platon 3 wheeler that faces inwards, and its great but want something that folds bit easier than that)has anyone got one?what are they like to fold?does it fold in one or do you have to take to bits to fold?also how high isthe handle height?seen the blossom colour and like that, alos like the new pistachio colour, but it looks like its veloury which would be a no-no!!

the Silver Cross website has an animation of the fold, and seems to show you have to take the seat off, which would be a serious pain IMO.

mmm,ive seen that.showed dh it this morning and he doesnt like it.he said it doesnt look sturdy.jsut dont know what pram to get.need it for our hols as my 3 wheeler is too big, that also folds in two parts!why do they have to make so many nice prams!!i like the graco quattro tour deluxe,i did have one and it was in the car,dh sold it to someone at work because he didnt like it!!grr at dh!!!!

I have no experience of any of these but what about the Bebe Confort Loola? Am sure that can face either way.

buffythenappyslayer · 04/05/2006 10:44

had a loola, but sold that because i hurt my back when i went for a walk!it was quite heavy and you know when you push down to go up a kerb, well,i managed to damage my back doing it!was on bedrest for a week and on pethadine!!(which was excellent!!)

The Linear Freeway doesn't look any different to the Mamas and Papas MPX two in one and that one can be folded in one but is then too bulky and heavy to lift.

buffythenappyslayer · 04/05/2006 10:57

just dont know which to go for!not leaving it up to dh,let him go pram shopping before for a 'little buggy',he came home with a mamas and papas at4!bloody heavy bulky thing that i never use,but he does.told him last night that im putting it on ebay this weekend.was suprised that he actually agreed!
my 'needs' in the pushchair dept are as follows!
easy to push
faces both ways (dd often brings up yukky stuff so its better that i can see her IYKWIM!!)
large basket
not silly shopping trolley wheels!
think thats about it really!!

Been having a nosey, what is the Icoo infinity like? seems a bit smaller and lighter than your platon.

buffythenappyslayer · 04/05/2006 10:58

is that the one with the shoppping trolley wheels?!

Katemum · 04/05/2006 10:58

Katemum · 04/05/2006 10:58

Hi buffy,

I am pregnant with my first and have been looking for a travel system which faces both ways right up to toddler. The favourites so far are the SC Linear Freeway and the Loola.

Having looked at both in the flesh, the SC seems much more sturdy than the Loola - possibly due to the bar handle. As for weight etc., the SC was lovely to push and the shopping basket seemed pretty big (although after a Loola, I guess anything would seem huge!).

The inner part of the (pistachio) SC is beige/green fluffy stuff - not sure if that would be a problem with your DD?

The folding of the SC might be a problem, and the chassis footprint seems muc larger (squarer) than the umbrella folding of the Loola. However, by having to take off the body of the pram, at least you are only lifting 6 kg twice, rather than the combined chassis and body weight.

If you do decide to buy the Linear Freeway, the best price I have seen is £280 on

Hauck also do a rear-facing buggy, so you might want to check that out. Kiddicare.co.uk have videos showing folding action and accessories etc. which are pretty helpful.

Let us know what you decide, I might just follow you on the Linear Pistachio option!
