How much fresh air do your babies/children get every day?

In Germany, where I come from, it is very much expected of mothers to take their babies out for looooong walks every day - AT LEAST one hour, preferably two or three. This annoys me a bit, as I think it's just one more thing to make a mother feel guilty, but being the person that I am (they call me the worrier...) I DO feel guilty if I don't take dd1 and dd2 outside every day - even though it's more like half an hour a day. But as I'm also the type of person who is easily influenced by others I thought I'd ask you lot how much fresh air you give your offspring each day. Sorry it's not a very exciting topic, but there you go!

I think any of us who manage more than 1/2 hour/day are doing better than average... shouldn't feel that bad about it!

Absolutely right zebra,
Let's face it we all do what we can and if you have (stubborn) toddlers it's a miracle they can be got through the front door at all some days

Like pulling teeth to get mine out the door... "You go shopping mommy, I'll wait here!"

I still do feel guilty though because I think it would be good for DS to get out more. Also think that DH should share some of this guilt as he's never pro-active about doing something like that at the weekend. Not too guilty about the exercise because took DS swimming on Friday and to a soft play place on Saturday.

It's January. I'm in hibernation mode. If the Grubs want fresh air, they can open the window. It won't be a pleasant experience, though, cos the farmer has been muck-spreading in the field across the road.

Lots. Dd1 runs around in the garden every day (even in the rain - her insistence, not mine!) and we usually go for a long walk in the afternoon. But there is bugger all else to do in the country. Poor lambs, they get excited when we go to Tescos.

My boys are school age now, but agree with codswallop about boys and fresh air - like dogs. They are school age now. Including playtimes and (long) walk to/from school they have about 2.5 hrs fresh air on a school day, and about the same weekends/holidays: this is in winter. In summer they would be out more.

I think it would probably be about the same before they went to school tbh. Though in summer we basically lived outside.

Be warned though, it is addictive. I used to just go to work then come straight home; since having got used to so much fresh air 'at home' with the kids, I now need to have a long walk myself before and after work, otherwise I go bonkers.
