A free weaning spoon. Which is great. Lovely marketing idea.

Suitable from 3 months though? Hmmmmm.....

Surely they arent suggesting that it be used to feed 12+ week old babies something containing sugar and cows milk.....are they?

Ssshhhhhhhhhh - dont tell Hunker Grin

Post needs deleting for sure Grin .

HunKeRMunKeR · 30/04/2006 23:09

Hunker just popped in to say she's emailed Yeo Valley Grin

HunKeRMunKeR · 30/04/2006 23:09

(My early weaning klaxon sounded...woke me up and everything)

Blu · 30/04/2006 23:10
Shock Does it say 3 months, though? or are they assuming that weaning takes place at 6 months? But as you say, sugar and cow's milk are just that - organic or not!

Shock

off to bed with you lady........Angry

pmsl! (Saves me emailing you a link anyway Grin)

TOO LATE.

veNivIDiViCkiqV · 30/04/2006 23:11

The packaging that the spoon comes in says "suitable from 3 months". Now, it doesnt say suitable to feed a 12 week old baby our yoghurts.....but purlease!

OP posts:
veNivIDiViCkiqV · 30/04/2006 23:12

not so much klaxon, as it is "parp" perhaps?

CHICagoMUM · 30/04/2006 23:14

Quick question - what age should you feed snails? DS decided to try one this afternoon from the garden, shell and all.

veNivIDiViCkiqV · 30/04/2006 23:16

As early as possible imo. The sooner they find out that they taste foul the better Grin

yuk!

DD went to kiss one the other day....think she has got her fairytales confused lol. Mind you, she also said it was a whale Shock

The yogurt packs are clearly labelled from 6 months.

HunKeRMunKeR · 01/05/2006 11:11

Yes, but the spoon says from 3 months and no baby should be having food that early so ime it's irresponsible of them.

No doubt people will no yada yada about how they used spoons to feed bmilk - yawn.

sheepgomeep · 01/05/2006 13:59

well I did used to used early spoons to get extra water down my dd from 3 months when she wasn't well and and wouldn't take water from a bottle. Didn't wean before 4 months though with both of mine (guidelines have changed since then)

I do agree with you though it is irresponsible of yeo valley. Is yeo Valley a uk company?

Twiglett · 01/05/2006 14:01

ye can giveth a 3 month olde a spoon(eth) but it dost not require to be laden with food

so sayeth the wise old woman Grin

veNivIDiViCkiqV · 01/05/2006 19:45

Well, indeed, i didnt say "suitable to feed a 3 month old with" just "suitable from 3 months".

Call me and old Pernicket, but, I cant get past the fact that they are marketing Yeo Valley dairy brand to parents with children 3 mths +.

Are those the bug spoons? My 2-year-old LOVES 'em. We're collecting them. She likes the Yeo Valley Fruit Tumbles.

veNivIDiViCkiqV · 01/05/2006 19:51

Yes, they are expat. My 3 yr old loves the fruit tumbles too. Check the pack next time though (the wrap around the spoon that is).

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 01/05/2006 19:52

Nooooo! Don't pressure them to take those spoons off the market! We're still collecting them. Just leave it!

veNivIDiViCkiqV · 01/05/2006 20:04

Oh the spoons are great! Its the packaging/instructions i have issues with Angry

hasbean · 01/05/2006 20:29

I almost didn't click to look at this because I thought it would be horrible and I love yeo valley yoghurts and the companies ethos. I am glad I did now as it reinforces all I know about them
Great

expatinscotland · 01/05/2006 20:31

I found lots in a Tesco Metro frequented most often by students - who don't really care about weaning spoons. :o

chipmonkey · 01/05/2006 21:41

ChigagoMum , tell your ds that the snails are far better sauteed in garlic.
Hunker, Parp yourself now and get to bed!!!Grin
