He has been horrible for about 5 weeks now, he winges all day, he throws things when he does'nt get his way, he does'nt do anything I ask him, instructions have to be given at least 3 times, he is mean to his little sisters, he is very impatient, he destroys everything, and tonight he pood himself, and it was just the last straw, I totally lost it, I shouted and went on ano on at him about his behaviour, I sent him to bed and he was sobbing, now I feel awful because I know I scared him, I want to go and wake him now and give him a hugSad

I lost it with my dd who has sn last week.

I felt so bad that I actually went in and told her teachers that I had. Teacher said you are only human and that is so true.

We love our kids but sometimes they just push us too far.

Try not to be too hard on yourself (says the mum who beat herself up for days!)

Greensleeves · 29/04/2006 23:08

I screamed at my 3yo for the first time ever a few days ago, and it made his 19mo brother cry because he was frightened. Sad I felt like a murderer. But later on I gave them a cuddle and apologised for being grumpy and they both snuggled and giggled and then forgot about it.

He WILL be fine. Forgive yourself.

glad to know it's not just me.... Blush

You're 'behaviour' actually sounds quite mild waterfalls - really, don't worry yourself about it....

waterfalls · 29/04/2006 23:14

He has been under a paedatrician for 2 years, as they suspect he is AS (fairl mild though)
he was put into a language unit at school and the transformation was shocking, to a point where I and his teachers thought no dx would be given, but now hes going downhill again, but with different issues, that could be part of growing up I suppose, but I have to have in the back of my mind, that he may be a SN child, so I try to be a lenient as I can with his behaviour, but still disipline him at the same time, in case there is nothing wrong with him, and he is just trying it on, its so difficult to know what to do.

Thanks for the replies, feel a bit better, going to go and have a chat with him while he is sleeping, as I know he subconsciously (sp) hears me because he will shake or nod his head to questions while snoring his head offGrin
