Developer wanting to build on gardens of houses opposite, planning advice needed please

A developer has applied for the 2nd time (1st one turned down) to knock down bungalow at end of road and build houses up the garden (300ft long) and also leaving a nice T shape so he can access all the other gardens all the way down the back (about 50 houses all with 300ft gardens).

We have organised a resident's meeting to stir people into action.

My question is who else can I approach to get involved with this? Is it an MP thing? Can anyone give me ideas of who to approach to write letters against this.

The main problem is that a lot of the houses are Victorian and don't have parking so the street is parked up either side and there really isn't room to have access to a new estate half way up it.

They also want to cut down 3 trees that must be at least 100 years old and these are on the pavement.

TIA

Those trees could be protected. It is possible that they have a preservation order on them and that is why they were not cut down when the pavement went in. Check that out, if there is a pres order on them they cannot be cut down.

No idea about the other aspects, perhaps a call to your the planning department of your local council ? They should be able to advise you and where to go next.

A row of houses next to my dd1's school have recently been boarded up and are supposed to be being demolished to make way for retirement homes. The houses were lovely victorian/ecwardian with massive gardens and were all well kept. It now seems that the developer who has bought them hasn't even got planning permission yet, and the article in the local paper described the homes as eye sores.
