Would you freeze to death or wear crippling shoes all in the name of 'style'

I couldn't - not for a gold clock!

When I see young women on a night out wearing skimpy tops and skirts that look like belts in the middle of February I shiver for them.

The only time I wore shoes a tad too small was for dd's wedding - they were perfect in every other way and it was very last minute - they were half a size too small, didn't stop me dancing the night away mind you, but I suffered terribly the next day.

I'm not a high heel kinda gal usually, I couldn't go on a marathon shop in heels like you some Shock

No. Not even when I was a young woman.

desperateSCOUSEwife · 28/04/2006 15:48

you cant feel the cold when you are pissed tbh

I go out like that Blush

LadyTophamHatt · 28/04/2006 15:49

the highest heels I own are 2inches at the very most.

I wore them to a friends wedding when I was PG with ds3, so almost 3 summers ago.

I've worn them about 3 times since.

I'm a warm and comfy girl all the way......

CountessDracula · 28/04/2006 15:54

I do wear heels but usually stuff a pair of flatties in my bag for the way home Grin

Don't go out half dressed though

jOoLsTOo · 28/04/2006 15:54

but what about on the way out - you're not pissed them are you? ShockGrin

If the heels are high and I've got no coat on then dh is driving or I'm in a taxi. So the 1 party I go to a year I get the kit out - no short skirts any more though, perhaps a lowish neckline if I'm feeling daring....

crunchie · 28/04/2006 15:55

I love high hells and wear them often, BUT I always take another pair with me!! So if I got to London for the day for meetings I have 2 pairs of shoes :) One pair o killer heels and one of comfy.

I can wear heels for a night out no problem, but I do suffer if it is a full day/evening like a wedding (hence extra shoes :) )

desperateSCOUSEwife · 28/04/2006 15:56

No and
no.

blueteddy · 28/04/2006 16:01

When I was younger I used to go out on the coldest of nights without a jacket, as I couldn't find one to go just right with my outfit!
Now I think about my warmth first & always wear a jacket of some kind if it is chilly. I take it off as soon as I get into the pub or resturant though.
As for shoes - can do high, but not too high!

expatinscotland · 28/04/2006 16:09

i can wear high heels and they don't hurt, but it's the freezing thing. nope. sorry, i'd rather leave something to the imagination than show off goose pimpled, blue flesh.

Mytwopenceworth · 28/04/2006 16:10

hell no, comfort first. next thing you'll be asking how many of us would have a toe chopped off to fit into the perfect shoes!! Grin

marthamoo · 28/04/2006 16:16

No, on both counts. Can't bear my feet hurting - so though I do occasionally wear heels (I have a lovely pair of sequinned slingbacks) they have to fit my feet and be comfy. Well, when I last wore them I spent the night dancing so my feet were aching - but they didn't rub or pinch my toes, iyswim. And I am not into displaying acres of flesh even in the summer - \link{http://www.aliciascostumes.com/nss-folder/pictures/Victorian-Bathing-Suit.jpg\this is my swimming cossie, actually}.

Hallgerda · 28/04/2006 16:20

No, and no. Even if I could find any trendy shoes or skimpy clothing in my size.

Tortington · 28/04/2006 16:20

i cant do heels.

eefs · 28/04/2006 16:27

I like the thought of heels, and god knows my legs could do with evey bit of help, but they only ever last an hour or two. I frequently walk home barefoot.

I saw lovely roll-up ballet pumps, tiny so they fit into a bag, for walking home in after wearing horrible heels. I thought that was a great idea (but they cost stupid money.) And besides, I never bring a bag out - it's only another thing to lose.

tallulah · 28/04/2006 17:00

No and No. I have no style Grin

Squarer · 28/04/2006 17:14

Hey M2PW. You may scoff. I actually went to my doctor at the grand age of 15 to ask if it was possible to remove my little toe.

He was very nice about it, but managed to discourage me all at the same time.
