Don't worry, it's not rude...in fact it made me laugh.

In the car yesterday I was telling dh about SenoraPostrophe's dd's ear and her emergency operation. I didn't realise ds1 was listening intently in the back..

Ds1: Who had to go to hospital? Was it M [a friend's little girl]?

Me: No, sweetheart. Not anyone you know. Someone who I talk to on the computer - her little girl was poorly. I don't really know her..well I sort of do..but I haven't met her...

Dh: One of Mummy's pretend friends, mate.

Men! They just don't get it, do they?

we argue about mumsnet moments....
but then he has his 'moments' watching dvds, at mates' houses, etc etc
It is my 'night out' (sad)
and i often pretend i am working......
Was telling him about senorapostrophe's little girl and he cuoldn't believe how nice everyone was about people they had never met (said it melted his heart )
Also got very cross on my behalf about THAT thread...

My dh really likes you lot. He has had a whole lot less angst from me since I met you all and got your advice on some stuff. Ds's eczema is way better since I started using EFA's, I am still bfing at 10.5 months, we get more sleep and I'm sure lots of other stuff too. He took it seriously only after I met ghosty, sibble and buzzybee - I think its easier for him to imagine me chatting to people I have met.

Aww, SenoraP, you're a great pretend friend (still smiling after reading of babapostrophe's arrival )

LOL ks . My boyfriend sometimes refers to it as a 'chatroom'. Have to remind him that it is a 'message board' - BIG difference . Other than that, he's not remotely interested except to sulk about how much time I have spent on here.

We're all part of a cult, according to dp & my mum (who don't agree on much...).

Dh loves the fact I have Mumsnet, and will often suggest I ask you lot questions (his latest was "what is that sticky tape on th front of Pampers pull ups for" but being the pc illiterate he is he just can't seem to get the concept. He asks who I'm talking to, and whether anybody is talking to me.

Marina · 14/01/2004 09:23

My dh thinks Mumsnet is great - we have both made new "real" (not pretend ) friends from it.
I am often asked to get advice from the site when he cannot be bothered to think things through for himself though
Ds is cross there is no Childsnet, as he called it.
