How about something "feely"? We had a lovely one called "little rabbit's bedtime" which DD loved from a very young age. Or I think Dorling Kindersely do lots of this type of thing. Other than that, have a look at Amazon's website, as I think they categorise their books into different age groups.

"Spot's first Easter".

Niece was born 17th april last year so did she had her first Easter then?

Easter was in March last year, so this is her first Easter

Hazellnut · 11/04/2006 20:10

thats not my bunny...

or

dear zoo (has been my 14 month old dd's favourite book for quite a few months).

Gillian76 · 11/04/2006 20:12

Second both of Hazellnut's recommendations. They were both hits with our when they were about that age.

Another vote for Dear Zoo - dd loves it. She also likes a cloth book called "Frog" about Bob the Frog as I bounce her up and down while we read it.

Anything with flaps or textures at this age works well. I'd avoid the Maisie & her friends books though as they're not terribly robust - dd has destroyed her Twinkly Crinkly Counting Book.

I second "dear zoo" it was a favourite with my 2 for years. Also "each peach pear plum".

My friend bought dd a gorgeous book for her Dedication last year called "What makes a Rainbow?" by Betty Scwartz which has coloured ribbons threaded through the book. As you turn the page, a colour is added until you have a whole rainbow. It's a really lovely book. There's a similar one called "What Makes Music?" which makes a xylophone. Amazon have it.

Soory - Betty Schwartz.
