I would be interested to know if anyone thinks it's too much or too little. There are 4 of us in a 3 bed semi, have boiler and gas fire and that's it.

why won't they send someone out?

When we swapped over to BG they set the direct debit and it was way too low (it seems) so they put it up and we were in credit by the start of the winter. We are now in debit again thus the insistence to raise the direct debit again. Once we're in credit again I'm changing supplier. There is a supplier who said they'll let you swap to them and clear yr balance (up £100) but I can't remember who they were now (acosted me in the high st).

we currently pay £75 a month for gas AND electricity .. have gas powered combi boiler and hob .. we are underpaying by about £8 a month atm

what ever you do don't go for one of these fixed price deals (you know x until 2009) - the utility companies have been told to bring the prices down so you could end up paying over the odds...

Will berate them again I think, it just can't be right. However, just realised our water could contribute to it- you have to turn it on, rather than having it automatically. Haven't had this kind of heating since before we had kids, maybe I've just forgotten? Blush

Or maybe should get a new boiler...

Thats an outrage
We have large 4 bed detached house, heating we are tight tight with 2-3 hrs a day Max and usually less.
We pay £57 a month for both gas and electric
We have switched to EDF endergy from powergen
Go to U switch
Thats seems a preposterous jump to me

Also remember it pans out in summer when use less...
