How to contact a group to arrange something for sick child?

We have got tickets for a Blink182 concert in Glasgow and DS's friend had wanted to go but it looks unlikely. He is going to have surgery to remove a malignant tumour from his leg about 2 weeks before the gig. He might be able to attend in a wheelchair but we don't know how he will be feeling and it might be really close to his next lot of chemotherapy.
Question is - how do people arrange meetings with the band or personal note from them. I have looked at the internet and you seem to need to subscribe to a sites to get actual contact info and I don't really want to do that. I want to phone someone - any ideas?

Mears - I am sure your son will be very proud of you and you're setting such a good example - why am I not surprised

Have tried a few times to get through to Braehead Arena in Glasgow - no answer. Then got a cleaner!
Managed to get through today but the person I spoke to was confused by the term production manager. I explained I wanted to speak to someone involved in the organisation of concerts and they put me through to an extension. I have phoned and left a message on the 'out of the office answer machine'. Am waiting for a call back.

Suzywong - got a call back but it doesn't sound too hopeful. There has been a change in administration and the company that booked the band are no longer in administration which has been handed back to Braehead. There is a lot of work going on in that area but the lady who phoned me back said she would speak to the business administrator, but in the past bands have not been keen to get involved in these kind of situations. She will get back to me by the end of the week. I said that if DS's friend was unable to attend the concert it would be good to get a personally signed poster or drumsticks ( he plays the drums)or something. Is there anything you could do at your end?

Of course, leave it with me, won't be until middle of next week though.

Suzywong - you've requested not to receive mail from mumsnet so I'm unable to pass your details on to Mears. Can you either update your member profile and tick the box or email me at mumsnet and I'll pass the details on

suzywong · 13/01/2004 19:29

Carrie I've updated it, thanks

mears · 14/01/2004 13:47

Have sent you an e-mail via mumsnet - hope you get it.
