...for a friend who is moving house? Its not a money thing, its just that she is a nightmare to buy for.

What would you think?

homemade presents are usually the nicest.

i'd be really pleased.

purpleturtle · 10/04/2006 16:10

I'd love it too. Smile

SenoraPostrophe · 10/04/2006 16:10

MUCH better than a bought present. especially if they are shortbread or ginger nuts.

oops · 10/04/2006 16:10

i think it would be lovley.

have jsut out the oven on to bake bananabread for my friend who has a 3 dya old ds2.

i was really touched that my other friend baked us chocolate brownies when my ds1 and ds2 were born. It was much nicer than just buying anything- she'd made an effort to give us something that was very handy!!

Not mean at all. Your time is more precious than money.

Frenchgirl · 10/04/2006 16:12

lovely idea, it takes more thought and effort to go and bake a cake than to go and buy a candle

she'll love it

madmarchhare · 10/04/2006 16:12

I was thinking along the lines of chocolate chip, shes a bit of a chocoholic, plus, I know I can do those.

madmarchhare · 10/04/2006 16:13

Grin I have nothing against candles btw, but they have to be really nice one (is diptyque...)
moondog · 10/04/2006 16:26

God no!!
Home baked gifts are about as stylish as you can get!!

catsmother · 10/04/2006 16:29

TBH, if someone had bought me round a shepherd's pie or something like it on moving day, I'd have been delighted !

robin3 · 10/04/2006 16:38

You'd be my instant new best friend.

madmarchhare · 10/04/2006 16:49

Straight to the top of the class with those responces, just what I wanted to hear Grin.

madmarchhare · 10/04/2006 16:53

Agree it's a lovely idea. Best new baby pressie we got when ds arrived was a basket of muffins!

PrincessPeaHead · 10/04/2006 17:04

I was brought some home made fudge the other day.
Fan-bloody-tastic. Took me right back to happy childhood excursions to the National Trust Shop. Ahhhh

LizP · 10/04/2006 17:06

I took muffins, a muffin tin and a muffin cookbook to friends when they moved, but think they would have been just as pleased with only the muffins. What about adding a copy of the recipe with the cookies ?

anguathewerewolf · 10/04/2006 17:09

i would much much rather recieve baked stuff than any bought present

gscrym · 10/04/2006 17:10

I would love that. Nice pressie to sit and munch when you're surrounded by boxes.

madmarchhare · 10/04/2006 17:18

I like the idea of giving her the recipe with them.

DS and I made his grandparents biscuits for easter instead of buying an egg and they were thrilled. If someone brought me something to eat on the day I moved I would ask them to move in!! Great idea.
