DS1 took a cuddly toy from A&E once with our consent (he was 4 at the time)

Always said we'd replace it but never did Blush

PinkTulips · 07/04/2006 20:59

I "stole" a gingerbread man from Tescos the other day.

Was putting bags in boot, when 2 yr old DD shouts "gingerman, gingerman" and there he was, alone in his bag in the corner of the empty trolley - and then I realised I didn't put it through the till.

Still ....... when I think of the £000s they've had off me, and their appalling customer service, I think a 30p cake doesn't even come close.

tillykins · 07/04/2006 21:21

Auntymandy, its not a joking matter, I have alerted both crimestoppers and the press

No wonder the NHS is strapped for cash

DS has brought home a toy from the Dr's surgery twice now, smuggled in his pushchair Blush

Will take some back in soon and some magazines. Grovel.

chipmonkey · 07/04/2006 22:15

We "stole" a little hat from the SCBU when bringing ds3 home from hospital. We meant to send it back but it was the only hat that fit him. ( he was prem) Now I don't want to send it back because its a reminder of just how small he was.

NannyL · 07/04/2006 23:00

I "stole" the mother care catalougge laast weekend

i blame mother care for putting the catalouge right buy the door as if you are supposed to pick one up on the way out..... got home and realsied i should have paid £1 for it

(i think its cheeky them charging for a catalouge anyway!)

Skribble · 07/04/2006 23:36

When I was pregnant I stole a couple of magazines because i had picked them up and put them under my arn while picking up a drink and a snack, i managed to put the drink and snack down at the till but forgot to put down the magazine oops!

The kids used to steal stuff in Ikea, a couple of times I would be unloading and discover stuff in their pram or on the jackets in the trolley.

calpopscalum · 08/04/2006 11:09

Oh my dd is a right shoplifter!! got her out of her car seat once after a trip to tescoa nd all tese packets of cashew nuts fel outof her jacket! She'd helped herself to them cos they were pink and shiny! had to eat the evidence I'm afraid! Did admit it to mil who is a tesco manager and she told me to eat them so I felt OK then!! DD does get frisked when leaving friends houses!!!
Once'stole' a rabbit feeding bowl from a garden centre when ds was newborn. Took him for a wlk ijn his pram, popped the bowl in the baket underthe pram, walked round, fed him, changed him and walked home totaly forgetting about the bowl until dh asked about it - he was standing outside the house with a selection of neighbours! Oh the sham of being outed in front of all the neighbours!!

babyonboard · 08/04/2006 12:01

you're meant to pay for the mothercare catalogues!? oops

my mum told me about her friend who was a chronic shoplifter in the 80's..she once picked up folded buggy baby in a buggy in a shop walked out with it as the wheel had fallen of hers nearby...
a security guard walked over and she panicked, but then he offered to put it up for her as she had baby on one arm and chnging bag, shopping in the other hand Shock
the security gurd helped her get away!

needles to say my mum stopped shopping with her..

babyonboard · 08/04/2006 12:02

''up folded buggy baby in a buggy''

opps lol..meant folded buggy in a baby shop....

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 08/04/2006 12:04

i think you get the mothercare catalogue free if you buy something in store anyway

babyonboard · 08/04/2006 12:05

and my toddler cousin stuffs alsorts into his changing bag when they are at friends houses..ornaments..clothes...food etc..they have found still wet knickers yoinked from the radiator in my grans house in there..and a box of 200 cigarettes from my uncles..eek!

anorak · 08/04/2006 12:26

DD2 came home from a shopping trip with her friend once and I spotted a Claire's Accessories earring set which had got tangled into her hair!

DH said tell her to get a plasma TV caught in her hair next time Grin

jamsam · 08/04/2006 12:31

ok, i have to admit to my years as 'lifeter'.
when i was expecting ds1 i was so big i had to use the disabled loo, low and behold there was a changing table with boxes of nappies and wipes. over the course of 3 months i visited every supermarket in the midlands. i still ahd enough newborn nappied for ds2 a year later.
i aslo 'borrowed' lots of magazines, books and toys from local hospitals and surgeries. now ith scouts we do a toy drive and take them back to the same places as some kind of apology..it seems to work!

babyonboard · 08/04/2006 13:43

Lol..in a club loos once my friend sprayed on perfume and took a few lollies etc which were all laid out and then looked utterly shocked when we were asked to pay for it...
she refused, saying she thought the £35 entrance fee and £5 cost per bottle of beer would cover such 'small luxuries', and i had to back her up on that one!

NotAModelMum · 08/04/2006 19:53

Jamsam-that's dreadful....and I wonder why more places don't provide free nappies for emergencies.

jamsam · 09/04/2006 14:52

i know..im awful...the funniest thing was that as ds1 was so early he was in special care.when the nurse who was his primary carer came to chat to me she had to politely say he was too big for thier prem nappies so could go and get some 3 month ones!!!! not even newborns!! and i spent so long collecting them!!!!
( i paid for it in the end when ds2 was caught at 2 years old trying to steal sweets from tesco...)
