Just like to point out this is not all police just the idots at Derby Police Station.

My sister is a postwoman and recently on her round she came across a man outside his house naked, he ran off and then apologised the next day to her saying he was just getting the milk in after having a shower. However, the following week he did it again and Monday he just walked straight out his house and flashed her. My sister has reported it to the police and apparently he also flashed a young girl last week, the policeman said he would come and see my sister on Tuesday evening about it to take a statement. My sister waited in all day and night and no-one turned up, she then got a phone call to say she lived too far away from the station (20 mins!!) and he wasn't coming down, he then asked her if she was making a mistake and that the man flashing her was just an accident. When she said no, he made her feel like she was wasting her time and that nothing would come of this anyway, he said he will "contact her". She's heard nothing yet. Am I the only one frustrated by this? She was flashed at and he also did it to a young girl but hey, maybe it was just a mistake Angry

I think she should accidentally trip over a kerb whilst carrying some garden shears and cut his knob off, save getting them involved at all.

We were burgled and they did not come for a week, not urgent apparantly.

Wish my sister had shouted something, she was just shocked and walked off. The young girl was only 13, can just imagine in a few times seeing a news article about him attacking a woman and it all stemmed from flashing and not getting caught :(

I might be tempted to write to the local station and tell them that you understand they are busy and can't follow up every call they receive, but here are details of the incidents on x date, x date and x date for their files, so that they have a reference in case of future complaints.

They will be much more likely to follow it up if they have something in writing, because they know as well as everyone else that most sex offenders start off with flashing and then move on to more serious crimes. The majority though, stick to flashing, which is why the police don't necessarily take it seriously. Prioritisation of resources and all that.

the police took ages to arrive on friday when the landlord of my local pub was being attacked by three men, and me and my friend were trying to keep them apart

i felt v let down by them

edam · 05/04/2006 22:28

Bet the local paper would be very interested in this. And negative coverage might make the police take notice.

nannyme · 06/04/2006 00:24

I do believe I hace read some research that says this type of behaviour is very often a pre-cursor to more sinister sexual crime.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but surely this confirms the seriousness of these events.

Derby police - if you're listening!!!
