Snurkers and Parpers - would you be so kind as to provide some information on the mumsnet 'dialect' and dictionary for the benefit of relative newcomers or is that priviledged information?

these should really be on the acronym list:

snurk is an amused noise, close to snigger, with a slight implication of superiority and/or detcahment on the part of the snurker.

parp is used when a poster has made their opinions felt on this topic many times before, and does not wish either to be drawn into the same discussion again or to type a long, impassioned post that risks degenerating into a rant. It should be noted that the parper is parping herself, not the original poster or anyone else. It is not designed to cause offence and in fact might be construed as a means of avoiding causing offence.
