quickie...

just wondering what yoy all do?

car has no front airbag.. so am wondering how many of you have your children sitting in the front seat (in car seat of course) if you have no airbag... usually ds sits in the back.. but i'm doing the dropping off at school run this week (dh is at a conference for a week!!! grrrr! but that's another story!!!)so would like to limit the reaching back to hand over drinks/ banana etc situation...

thanks...

no, always in the back for me - much safer for children

I have swapped to my DS always in the back due to the higher level of safety in the back if there's a crash!

Though my mum says I am more likely to crash with him in the back because of reaching over to hand drinks etc to him! Actually I have to say we've got a brilliant booster seat which has two pull out holders, for snacks or drinks - so I don't have to hand him things at all now.

But couldn't put him in the front now.

DD has only been in the front our car about 3 or 4 times and only when necessary. She is almost 4yo. It just isn't as safe in the front.

It is only on long journeys I have to hand DD things in the back.

Would you really need to be handing him things just on the school run?

okey dokey... the general consensus seems to be sick him in the back seat... ta everyone!

it's not really the school run.. the nursery run... he usually goes to the nursery where dh works so it's very convenient but not when it's me dropping him off... it's a good 20 min journey and there is always a need for a drink or some toy has been dropped (he's 2)... but then again.. i'll just have to ignore him when the driving gets a little nerve wracking (i'm not a very confident driver and teh way into his nursey is a bit busy and nerve wracking! only driven teh trip about two times...! eeek!)

wish me luck tomorrow!

I give my 2 year old a snack and drink at the start of the journey - She has a small bowl with the snack in and a non-spill cup for her drink. She does occasionally drop things but I just tell her we will get it when we stop and she is mostly ok with that.

Bozza · 02/04/2006 21:15

So what does DH usually do with him?

yeamam · 02/04/2006 21:17

Would he not already have had his breakfast? My dd has her breakfast before we leave, making sure she needs nothing lifted or handed to her on journey, ds is the same :)

bea · 02/04/2006 21:21

it's all just my nerves really as i want everything to go as smooth as possible... due to the horrible driving i'm going to endure...

thanks for all advice...
