Present for sister I haven't seen in 11 years

Please help me! I have just remembered that it is my sister's 36th birthday in a few days. I won't be near the shops until it is too late, so I need to find something online that can be sent directly to her.
To be frank, we live at opposite ends of the country, haven't seen each other in 11 years, and speak on the phone twice a year - on each other's birthday in order to say thank you for the gift. Basically, I am sending her a present because it would upset my parents if I didn't.
She has a completely different lifestyle to mine. No children. I have never seen her house so have no idea what would go decoration-wise. We haven't shared a home for over 20 years. Don't even know what size she is or what her hair looks like or anything. Don't know what she likes doing. Don't know if she reads.
Oh God. When I read back what I have just typed, I have no idea why I am bothering to send her a present at all. But I am grimly determined that I will not be seen as the transgressor by my parents, who put immense pressure on me and our middle sister to keep up contact.
Please help by telling me some useful websites. By the way, she and her husband earn a lot more than me and mine, so I will not be attempting to compete - a token is what we are looking for.

flowers? a gift token?

Libra · 28/03/2006 13:29

Can't do a gift token. A few years back, when she was sending me gift tokens every year, I used it as an excuse to suggest that we ought to just give up. Also, that puts a clear monetary value on the whole thing. Kind of wanted to fudge the matter a bit.
Flowers - um. Don't know. We kind of go for 'real' gifts in our family. Never thought of flowers.
Thanks for the ideas!

So those two plus £5 postage and you will look really good.

Thank you so much. It looks a really nice site. I think even a corporate tax person would be impressed by some of the stuff there wouldn't she? Thank you so much for solving my problem.

Oh yes, it is a very what shall we say "aspirational site"

Though personally, I draw the line at £100 on a cashmere baby shawl.

Soon be covered in puke and poo.Grin

Not really an issue for my sister. Her present to her husband on his 30th birthday was an appointment for a vasectomy. They REALLY didn't want kids.
