Car damaged on my drive. REALLY angry.

Went out to my car this morning to find some scrote has carved great big scratches into the front of it under the windscreen. Looks like they were trying to carve initials. (WTF?!) DH immediately said it must have been done at my work but I park where I can watch it all day and I would notice someone hanging around in the car park, or someone else in the office would.

I'm buying it on a lease-purchase scheme so it means I have to have it fixed under the terms of the agreement. I'm probably looking at at least £300.

What makes it worse is that the car is parked on our drive right by the front door so they've had to come onto our property and stand right by our door- heaven knows what else they could have done. I am so very very Angry Angry.

DS2 says "oh that's the sort of thing X round the corner does. He'll probably be bragging about it". I've asked him to find out. If it turns out it is X round the corner, is there anything I can do without proof? Obviously I will go to the police if so, but can I make them press charges?

My car got keyed and then some stabbed all the tyres on my car and DH's while they were parked on the drive, right in front of the house, right in front of the front door. Angry So I know how you feel. I had an idea who it was was, but couldn't prove anything, so the police couldn't press charges.

Shock How odd, I found my car back windscreen smashed to pieces yesterday afternoon on the drive - as you say, right by our front door - never, ever had any trouble before, so was spooked to read your post!
It's just miserably unfair isn't it? I mean, why???? It's cost me £60 excess plus a tarpaulin as we don't have a garage - the whole car will be mouldy by monday when Autoglass can finally fit me in to mend it. and the car seat and pushchair are full of glass. Sad

That is dreadful. We dont have a drive and have to park on the road, so far we have had two cars stolen and 1 broken into and we have only lived here 5yrs.

And to top it all we had a brick thrown at our car yesterday while we were driving along. It hit the back passenger side right where ds2 was sat in his car seat, luckily it hit just below the window otherwise I dread to think what could have happened. Dh tried to chase after the kid but he got away so we went to the school where the boy is a pupil and called the police but as we only saw the uniform and a white coat I dont hold out much hope of finding who did it. This kid was at least 14 so old enough better. We were lucky, the next car he does it to might not be.
