Quality buggy in Mothercare

Has anyone else seen the lovely buggy in Mothercare that has an England flag as the seat?? Chavtastic! (and I use the term "chav" to indicate people with no taste, not in any classist sort of way)

The England flag is predominately white for a start - I mean how practical is that?!

As much as I am going enjoy this world cup year (yes OK I like football start the insults now), I think it has a lot to answer for, this disgusting pushchair being one of them.

The sad thing is I can see some really very nice women getting the shocks of there lives when footie mad DH suprises her with a new buggy, I think I would use it as grounds for divorce.

cod · 25/03/2006 18:32

meerely th word buggy or the idea that they hold some sort of cachet makes me reach for he Boden catalogue and a nice cup of darjeeling

Grin I know a town where I might spot a fair few of these hideous buggies. It is a town that I once saw a Mum pushing a baby around that was wearing a bib with the words "My Dad's a t*sser"!!!!
flutterbee · 25/03/2006 18:37

I'm pretty damn sure that these will be a top seller over the summer especially if England do well, the really sad thing is it won't just be poeple with no taste it will be well dressed middle class women who normally couldn't give two hoots about football who find buying anything with "the flag" strewn all over it their only way to express support and feel involved.

Taste is not the only issue here, stupidity has to be involved too.

lanismum · 25/03/2006 18:39

even if my buggy broke while i was out and this was the only 1 i could find, id rather carry my 23lb baby home than push one of those.

spacecadet · 25/03/2006 18:42

its hoprrible and naff...yuk.

HappyMumof2 · 25/03/2006 18:44

i'm dreading seeing one now as I'm just going to have to stand and stare! (& check out whoever's pushing it!)

lanismum · 25/03/2006 18:45

there are ones like it on ebay, which have ENGLAND printed across the seat, just to make it worse.

cyan · 25/03/2006 19:12

lanismum i bet you love them really thought you had one on order!

LIZS · 25/03/2006 19:21

Noo , that is vile ! Cue lines of scalped tots, with pierced ears, in replica kit and babies in trainers.... ideal for those midnight promenades through Ayia Napa and Ibiza town. Love the way the box underneath has accessories of Phil and Teds, Bugaboo et al, hmm not quite.

lanismum · 25/03/2006 19:37

cyan-ssshhhhhhhhhhhh dont tell everyone!! Grin

sharklet · 25/03/2006 21:23

Fimbo · 26/03/2006 10:32

I have seen them before - I think Woolies were selling them ages ago - they were selling them off - naffchavtastic.

Don't forget the mum's hair - scraped back as tightly as possible with curly tendrils hanging down - class.

MamaG · 26/03/2006 10:36

oh God I saw one yesterday! Shaven headed toddler boy sat in it, drinking a fruit shoot. Dad with baseball cap pulled right down over his face. Mum lots of gold jewellery, scraped back hair, and a tattoo on her neck!

I was staring at them horrified, but they clocked me so I scuttled into woolies in horror!
