Just a bit off the mark, but wondering what some of you think to the newest idea of a nightclub where i live!!!

They have advertised it as a SCAR/NORTHERN SOUL club, which will appeal to the older generation.!!!

Well i went to a scar / northern soul night on saturday that was arranged by these people and it was total pap!!!!! The DJ was Shank!! and the music was total mish mash, was a real shame as a fair few of us went only to be dissapointed with it, although it did not stop us getting happy with beerGrin

My mum is speaking to them a bout arranging a rock night as the one we had on a monthly basis has stopped due to the venue and apparant lack of interest!!!!!

What do you reckon?????

dds love panic at the disco - damn sight better than avenged sevenfold but then I am getting old.

went to a place in brighton called funky fish with some mumsnetters which is a soul music place -it was packed and it rocked. the dj was outstanding with his mixes and using the lighting to get people going. just playing the intro for ages with pumping lighting it was liek waiting for an orgasm - he was fab. and he stuck to original versions of stuff we know has been in the charts since - or those that have been mixes of originals - so everyone either new the music, part of the music or the song - becuase they heard it 2 or 3rd time around.

Thats what we need where we are.

The nightclubs or should i say pub by day/crappy version of a nightclub by night are totally shank!!!

there is never any variation except the occasional wednesday when it is pound a pint{grin]
This weds i went with my mum and friend and atually got them to play something we liked.

They played some madness, the jam, style council some kaiser cheifs and the artic monkeys, and they couldn't believe that people were getting up to dance!!!!!

I think they will do it more often, the atmosphere in that half hour was a buzz and i was like a derranged lunatic bouncing aroundGrin, but then thats me all over!!!Wink
