Perfect working order, especially the lungs. Rarely has any "downtime" so lots of fun to be had.A bit on the chunky side so needs feeding regularly.

Ideal family pet!

I found both of mine were nearly 3 (well DD is nearly2 but still at it) before they were as happy to be sat down with as stood up with IYSWIM. DD would love for me to stand holding her at the window all day.

I wanted to thump the people who would say to me - someone is not happy when dd2 was mid scream with a very red screwed up face..... d'uh you think - what gave you that idea.

I remember bushwalking ( yeh I know) with dd2 - she was in a carrier on my front and was getting close to feed time - she went off on one, I am trying to manouver the sling so I can feed when a whole pack of old wrinklies came around the corner. I expected them to break into the happy wanderer song... So i put shirt down until we are past them. But bloody hell - every single one of them said to me - someone is not very happy or something of that ilk!! I tell you - they were going to be happy wandering at the bottom of a ravine by the time wanderer no10 got level with me. Dh says to me - tell me something I don't know. i wanted to thum p him too - he used to tell me to ignore it when old ducks started up in the supermarket as dd2 was mid scream and I was trying to placate her. I got so cheesed off I sat in the middle of the track and feed dd2 and bugger to anyone who did not like it.

SHe is not like that now - happy to entertain herself and get into mischief in huge doses but rather quietly - as children do!!

CountessDracula · 23/03/2006 12:18

Soupy would you like my electirc swing thing?

CountessDracula · 23/03/2006 12:19

have you tried baby einstein dvds they used to shut mine up

SoupDragon · 23/03/2006 13:15

Very tempted by the swing but there's enough assorted baby "stuff" cluttering up my living room already. Thanks for the offer.

She is now fast asleep in a sling with her head on my chest. Snoring gently.

I have a baby einstein video (£1 from a charity shop) but the Telewest engineer messed up our video connections and we've not sorted it out yet.

dd2 was a cling on baby, I did a thread about it once going on about me sobbing but I can't find it.

I bet she is still cute

SoupDragon · 23/03/2006 13:23

she's cute when she's not screaming :o There is something nice about having her snuggled up close but she's so bl@@dy heavy.

And she does sleep for a 7 hour stretch at night so I shouldn't really complain.

Many sympathies, ds was much the same. I thought I would go insane and didn't know about MN at the time Sad

How does she do in a sling? That was very calming for ds. Also the swing was a blessing in our house. And, let's see, the bouncy chair that vibrates and has all the little toys hanging down worked sometimes. Ours had buttons that he would hit with his feet when he kicked and it activated music.

SoupDragon · 23/03/2006 13:39

She's slung round my neck in a sling at the moment. She loves it but after a while she does get rather heavy! Doesn't like the vibrating thing on the rocker chair - and I'm not surprised! It would give me a headache.

anyone want an overtired 5 month old?!

Doing my bloody head in! Whinging..... doesnt want fed, doesnt want held, wont sleep - side effect from jabs yesterday?!

littlerach · 23/03/2006 13:43

7 hours????

Pah, swap yuo for a 19 month old who is adorble and cute and eats everything, and only shouts 75% of the time.....and still wakes 3 times in the night.
Not for anything, I hasted to add, just because....she can.

hunkermunker · 23/03/2006 14:07

SD, 7 hours? Envy

I'll swap you for DS2 then Grin He's heavy in a sling, doesn't squawk much but doesn't sleep that well at night. Actually, maybe I'll just ask your little drakling to teach DS2 to sleep at night rather than swap them Grin

SoupDragon · 23/03/2006 14:09

I know, 7 hours! She's done 8 before too. (and she's not on formula or babyrice or anthing else ) A balance between me sobbing hysterically during the day whilst she squawks and sleeping at might would be nice though.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 23/03/2006 14:10

Oh, SD [sympathy on the sobbing front]

SoupDragon · 23/03/2006 14:10

Is she old enough for Medised, JARM? Poor thing sounds like she needs drugging... er I mean some pain relief. Ahem.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 23/03/2006 14:12

Sad indeed, HM. But they drive us all to it at some point. At least it's not as bad as with a precious firstborn where the future stretches out in front of you in one long interminable sleepless nightmare! Having said that, DSs both slept in the day and for long stretches at night. Sigh. It's only with hindsight I realise what angels they were)

OP posts:
jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/03/2006 14:14

think i will try some calpol if this nao only lasts 10 minutes..... poor jess has been abandoned today

hunkermunker · 23/03/2006 14:14

Absolutely, SD. Although mine both very "good" (loathe that expression) but I'm very crap, it would seem, because it's still too much a lot of the time!

DS2 sleeps better than DS1 ever did, but DS1 was a shocker!

SoupDragon · 23/03/2006 14:17

BabyDragon has her first jabs in a couple of weeks. Sob! Must make sure I have some not-out-of-date calpol in. Both DSs are sadly neglected at the moment.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 23/03/2006 14:26

Well she is down for the time being, fingers crossed it lasts - DH isnt going to be home until 10pm so it better be a good afternoon!
