Quick, answers before the police arrive???

LOL

No, really, salt and water hasn't helped, neither has vanish upholstery cleaner.
Am I buggered?

Test a small area with watered down bleach, it may take the blood out but not the colours on the mattress depending on the fabrics.

Okay, good plan!

or flip the mattress!!!!

If you have used warm or hot water, then you may never get the stain out completely - something to do with setting the protein.
With blood you must use really cold water - may not be much help at this stage!

Bleach didn't work Shock
I have only used cold water. I'm going to have to flip the mattress aren't I.

This is my totally uninformed way of doing it. It may not get the stain out but at least dilutes it to become a blob so it is not recognisable as a blood stain. I put a little water and then some liquid soap on the stain for oh, 10 to 15 mins. Then before it dries, use a dry cloth to dab out as much of the water as possible. In the meantime, the stain has spread to a larger area and lost its hard edge. But like I said, it does not get it out completely.

tinkerbellchelle · 22/03/2006 13:50

daisy1999 · 22/03/2006 13:50

flipping the mattress only works til it happens again!

try vanish, it must be good for something Smile

mythumbelinas · 22/03/2006 13:55

Just get a mattress protector and cover it .. one you can machine wash too :)

I think the problem is that my body heat must have "set" the stain.

Bloody mooncup (literally)
