not ENTIRELY true re rule of 85. As it stands, you could retire before 60 on a full pension if your employer agreed and you had the 85 years. Employers fairly rarely refuse in my experience. NORMAL retirement age is 60, if you have reached your 25 years of contribution (or at least it is for that generation, if you joined after 1998 it's 65).
Again as it currently stands, if you retire before 60 you need to get employers consent to access any of your pension (and if you get consent it will be reduced benefits). You don't get any benefit in retiring before 50.
