Worth complaining or shall I just get over it??

Went to get my train yesterday afternoon at 17.39. We arrived at train carpark (very small town station) at 17.18. Unpacked and went over to rail crossing and buzzed for help. I had a buggy with 16 month old DS in plus nearly a weeks worth of baby stuff, clothes, my stuff. All in all, 5 big bags. Man said he could not let us cross because the train had already past last signal. We would have to go over bridge. Now, normally that would not be too much of a problem, but, atm, they are repairing big old wide bridge and have replaced it with a narrow, three storey bridge which was barely wide enough for us to get buggy through, let alone up.

I was with my mum, who suffers with (as do I) a bad back. I have made the journey several times before and this has never been a problem, although due to the fact that the man at Yeovil has been previously soooo reluctant to help, we have gone to Sherborne (they are more used to it there with all the old biddy's Wink.

Basically it took us several minutes to get up and over the bridge, loads of my stuff fell out of my bag, I don't think I have lost anything but irritating all the same. My back is now killing me, I don't know how my poor mum is.

I went in and vented and raged at the man, previously when we have used the crossing, both myself and my step father saw how he could barely contain his annoyance at being called away from the tele. He was rude and abrupt. He said that the last signal was 18 minutes away. And yes we had only just missed it. And yes, he could use his judgement, but what if we had been stuck on the track???

I have considered this. In the highly unlikely event that we did get stuck over the 3 metre area of track, well, you would just pull them out of the bloody way wouldn't you?? No injury would be worth getting run over by a train.

So my complaint is that bearing in mind the construction works impeding our access over the bridge, and his common sense could be used to allow us to cross. I feel our safety was put more at risk by struggling over a temporary bridge, not only risking us but also DS.

What do you reckon??

I tend to get a bit stroppy about things like this. Blush
