What time do you bathe your littlies? Dh says it should be about 6, then downstairs for milk and bed.

I think it should be earlier as I don't like them going to bed with wet hair.

Why don't you dry their hair?

Angeliz · 19/03/2006 16:20

I bath mine around 6 (but not every night, no need and am too tired) and have to dry their hair whenevr i wash it. (but i have girls with long thick hair)

Yorkiegirl · 19/03/2006 16:22

about 6 ish here. Then towel dry hair, watch telly for a bit before a story and bed.

crazydazy · 19/03/2006 16:23

Around 6. DS usually worn out by 7.

NomDePlume · 19/03/2006 16:24

DD is 3y5m and her evening routine is this..

6.15pm - Bath/shower with hair wash

6.30pm - Dry wrapped up in fluffy towel watching Little Bear on Nick Jr on Mummy & Daddy's bed

6.45pm - Diprobase (moisturiser for dry skin)
and teeth brush

6.50pm - Story in her bed with Daddy

7pm - Lights out

Smile

DD has fine, chin length hair which dries quickly so don't have to worry about it being damp in bed, but I've been known to give her a quick blast with the hairdryer if it's a chilly night

Twiglett · 19/03/2006 16:30

DD goes to bed with wet hair .. doesn't seem to worry her at all Grin

normally bath DS (5) and DD(22 months together at around 6.30 .. but if I just slam DD into bed at 7 cos we've been busy / out / can't be bothered with bath then DS gets a bath at 7.20 (after Maggie and the ferocious beast)

nutcracker · 19/03/2006 16:31

Between 6.30 and 7 usually. I towel dry their hair, and they go to bed with it damp.

Radley · 19/03/2006 16:34

Angeliz, i towel dry their hair, but i don't like them going to bed with damp hair.

Yes i didn't mean it to sound abruptn that's why i posted twiceSmile

Am i the only one who uses a hairdryer on the little ones then?

NomDePlume · 19/03/2006 16:35

no angeliz, I do if its a chilly night or a late bath

mummygow · 19/03/2006 16:37

DS has a bath about 6pm the bottle at 6.30pm and up to bed 6.50pm - he is nearly 5 mnths.

DD I tend to bath late aafternoon now as it is easier than trying to squeeze them both in at 6pm however as DS gets older and goes into big bath will prob bath them both together at 6pm!!

crazydazy · 19/03/2006 16:38

DP insists that I dry DD's hair, I think its okay and can't do much harm.

mummygow · 19/03/2006 16:38

Angeliz I use a hairdryer on my DD - have since she had enough hair to dry!!

Angeliz · 19/03/2006 16:38

Oh i messed you NDPSmile

DD1 loves the summer when her hair can dry 'in the sun'.

Twiglett · 19/03/2006 16:44

of course not making sure DD's hair is dry before she goes to sleep laid me open for copious comments from mother when she was hospitalised with pneumonia

along the lines of it was my fault she got a pneumonia because of going to bed (in centrally heated room) with wet hair

bol-ol-ollocks!!!!

Laura032004 · 19/03/2006 16:46

Now that it's getting a bit colder, I sometimes bath DS at about 4pm before his tea. He then goes straight into his PJ's after his bath. On these nights he has a much longer bath (half or 3/4 of an hour) while I clean the bathroom. He loves this as he can play to his hearts content.

However whatever time we bath him, he has short fine hair which dries in about five minutes :)

BettySpaghetti · 19/03/2006 16:48

If ours go to bed with wet hair they look like feral children the next day Wink so tend to make a half-hearted attempt to dry it . Bathtime is usually 6/6.30pm.

Dottydot · 19/03/2006 16:51

bath time's at 7pm - they have a bath every night but hairwash only once a week! Then downstairs for a couple of books and then bed at about 7.30pm. Their hair's usually dry by then - or only damp, so we don't bother drying it.

ja9 · 19/03/2006 16:57

ds 19 mths. bath time around 6 and then bed at 7pm.

expatinscotland · 19/03/2006 16:59

7PM. DD1 has beautiful, chesnut-coloured, long, wavy locks. So I towel dry them thouroughly, then spray them w/Johnson's detangling spray and comb thru w/a Denham brush. She gets a cup of milk and a story, then I read DD2 a baby story. Then we brush teeth and she goes to bed - 8PM. Her hair is fairly dry by then. I don't use a blow dryer on it. In the morning, it's combed through again w/Johnson's spray and then brushed w/a Mason Pearson brush.

DD1 has a looooonnnggg feed and goes down at 9.

Radley · 19/03/2006 17:02

Angeliz, I didn't think you being abrupt at all.

The main reason is that i always worry that it will get knottier, even though I do always spray with detangler and comb it through after towel drying, DD2 is a nightmare as it is with her hair being combed, brushed or even touched.

Oh goodGrin

I use a little herbal essence conditioner on dd1's hair as it is so long. I'm off to do them both now as it happens.

Mazzystar · 19/03/2006 17:14

ih golly, i don;t start bedtime until 7.30! or we'd be up before the sparrows. i don't wash ds hair every day either. slacker mum alert.

expatinscotland · 19/03/2006 17:16

DD1 has sensitive skin, but I do use organic children conditioner on her hair, which is washed only every other night. It is llllooonnnggg, especially when wet w/o the ends curling up. She won't let me plait it, put it in a ponytail or bunches. She won't wear grips or a hairband, either.

cece · 19/03/2006 17:36

About 6.30. They have hair wash generally on Sundays and use hairdryer to dry it before bed.
