Does anyone run a parent and toddler group?

The two ladies that run our parent and toddler group are standing down and they need people to take over from them.
I am tempted but my youngest will be starting primary school in September - so I'm not sure if it will suit me.
I have been going there since dd1, now 6, was a baby so I know the group quite well. I help set up when I can and have been known to "run" the group when the other two have been away.
Just wondered if anyone else ran a P&T group and what you thought about it. I get the feeling it could get time consuming.

I did it until DS2 started reception last September.

It was only time consuming on the actual day but it was a tie having to go each week.

Is it a paid job?

don't run one but go to two!
I would think it depends on the group. If it is very well run already then it may easy to carry on the good work and they can help you when you first start. TBH I would think that once the main things are up and running - venue, toys etc, then it shouldn't be that much work should it?
One of the groups that I go to is very small and once a year or so we get together in the evening to have a toy sort out and the rest of the time it just toddles along really. I guess it's the responsibility of always haveing to be there to open up and set thiongs up but perhaps you could rope in a few more "volunteers" to help you?

i think if you are happy to continue meeting this groupd o fpeople then it would be fun. but if you are ready to move onto other activities ,, then dont volunteer

Sorry, Sparkler 1: saw your post earlier but only just found time to reply.
I help run a parent and toddler group - and I find it fun but knackering!
It's a big group, though (up to 80/90 kids at a time, and we have a team of mums helping out - there are maybe six of us but we don't all manage to turn up every week.
The time-consuming stuff (apart from the setting up and clearing away) is mainly preparing the craft activity and sorting out admin hassles (safety policies, fees, cleaning toys etc)
I'm not sure I could run one single-handed - but you're probably more organised than me!

It's purely voluntary. I went to help out this afternoon and I'm shattered.
