Where did you get your baby passport photo done?

I am struggling to get a photo for ds3 who is 18 months. I've tried 2 photo booths and just couldn't get it right -he's too bloomin wriggly. Then been to Max Spielman twice where they take it - but both times, separate post offices have rejected them saying his face takes up too much of the photo.

At this rate he's gonig to get left behind!! Any ideas - how can we make sure we get it right?!

I took DS to the local pharmacy.

snappy snaps/photos - something like that ... They just did a load of digital pics of dd1 and picked the best.

Thanks. Hmmm, this is really annoying me - will try Jessops - there is one near to me.

or if all else fails and you have a digital camera -take a couple of pics yourself, crop them so he is in the middle etc and then on Tesco Photobox you can upload the pic and order a set of 6 passport pics - they are delivered the next day and are about £2!! At least you can keep taking the pic until you get it right!!!
We had DS's done when he was 6weeks old....it literally took us hours to get a snap of him with his eyes open and have both ears showing and all the other stupid stuff they say!!! Looks nothing like him now!! Good luck

DaddyCool · 15/03/2006 12:25

you should really just go to a local professional studio. they won't charge much, honest.

a booth is what, £3.50? the dude charged me £7.00 for ds's UK one and £10 for his extremely fiddly, pain in the arse canadian one.

(and that's two different places. the first dude couldn't do the canadian one)

DaddyCool · 15/03/2006 12:26

plus... i found that ds was so mesmerised by the studio and the photographer that he just sat there motionless looking at the camera. result: perfect shot.

GDG · 15/03/2006 12:29

Oh, they are both fab suggestions!

Thanks for that! Might try and see if I can do it with a digital camera first and then mess about with it myself.

Cheers!

I took DD to a photoshop - Klick? I think. She was about 8 months at the time. She didn't even look the same by the time we went to France when she was 13 months and certainly won't this year when she will be 27 months.

JoolsToo · 15/03/2006 12:42

Lol at Mario Grin

GDG · 15/03/2006 12:42

I know Bozza - ds2 is about 4 months on his and he'll be 3.5 when we go in May Grin

I had my nephews done at Max spielman and they told me that if it wasn't accepted by the passport people to go back with receipt and they would re-do it until they got it right.

Alternativley you can take your own picture on a digital camera and use that at max spielmans photo machine.

TheBlonde · 15/03/2006 13:18

snappy snaps

kiskidee · 15/03/2006 13:34

did ours at Klick photo when dd was 4 mos old.

I phoned up the passport office as her mouth is open in a smile.

If child is under 5 yrs old, they do not have to fulfill all the fiddly requirements as per older persons. (they accepted it with her open mouth smile.)

Was worth phoning up.

BonyM · 15/03/2006 13:45

I did mine myself with a digital camera - lots of places will then print them passport size, including Asda.
