Common and nice that's me.

She moved away and got ideas above her station.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 15/03/2006 16:42

lol Fio - I'm more a Signal girl. Was it Sam Plank?

I am the only person in my office who has watched (one) episode of this dreadful programme but have provided endless entertainment for everyone else with my accounts of how we must all buy plastic baggies to keep our matching underwear together! Surely, if we all had Anthea's money and as much time on our hands as she obviously has (having scuppered her TV career herself), we could all have similarly pristine homes. She must have about £30-worth of bags just in the one underwear drawer she opened - that's an annual underwear budget for lots of us! And what is the point of showing us how she organises her laundry in her utility room which is bigger than the average kitchen?! I'd have much more time for a programme where a mother of at least two children, possibly working part-time, with no time to get her roots done and a calendar full of school Lenten activities, kids' birthday parties, music lessons and who has forgotten (again) to buy the b$%&^y felt for DS1's design class, was sharing her tips on how not to lose your mind!

lol ann

I haven't watched the programme but I can't understand how it could be in any way difficult to keep your house in a half decent condition if you don't have kids and you do have loadsa money (like, get a cleaner)

Anthea used to have a thing for DJ's - I remember her at the King's Hall in Stoke trying to get it on with the DJ.... Bruno Brookes - the oldies will remember him - she succeeded but left him a few years later for another DJ - Peter Powell I think.

Think you got off lightly there Bruno!

Lol, at this thread. I think Anthea Turner is actually Hyacinth Bouquet after a bit of botox a diet and a tight pair of jeans.
I bet she gets into a complete sweat if anyone actually visits: whipping out doillies and probably has graded mugs for the importance level of each guest!!!
Love the idea of a GH reader being affronted by her lifestyle though! Can't see how that impacts on her ability to organise her knicker drawer!!
Whole thing is just so ridiculous. Grin
