I have an ebay customer who is being a bit of a pita.He has bought quite a bit of stuff from me & I agreed to hold onto his goods for several weeks until he'd bought everything he wanted.I also agreed to reduce the postage due to it being a large order.

Despite this,he emailed me asking me to reduce the postage as he thought it excessive.I duly replied that I had already agreed to do this & would do so upon invoice.

Now he has paid the invoice,but put a note on saying that I must ensure it is signed for by him,as he doesn't want it leaving on his doorstep.

Arghh,I am sure that this service is going to cost me more & why should I be out of pocket because of this?I have checked the RM website & can't find anything about costs for signed for delivery of parcels.It weighs 4kg.

Can anyone help?Is there a signed for parcel service?
Thanks.

Yeah but i think it costs more. if he wants that service from you then he'll have to pay.

"Royal Mail First Class Recorded Signed For" for a 4kg package is £14.86 according to the \link{http://sg.royalmail.com/servlet/acedispatcher?funcId=100&AceApplication=consignia&pageId=frameset\Royal mail postal calculator}

There isn't a signed for parcel service. second class is a max of 750g. first class works out to be nearly £15 with the recorded charge too. The only other option is to send it via courier which would cost about £12. How much have you charged?

SoupDragon · 14/03/2006 17:22

\link{http://www.parcel2go.com/\this} courier claims to be about £10 IIRC.

I think he can arrange for it to be delivered to a PO but don't know if that is chargeable (it probably is)or send it to his workplace

I use soupys link for large parcels. They are pretty good.

Many thanks.I knew that yo'd be able to point me in the right direction.

I had only charged £8 as standard parcels rate.I get the feeling that this guy is trying it on & hoping I'll cover the cost of signed for,otherwise he would have mentioned it before I invoiced him.

I have emailed him saying it is no problem & quoted the new price & suggested I send it to his work.I wonder how he'll react.Not well,I imagine.

Thanks again.
